Great place to camp and do river activities. Gets hot with the sun and not much shade, so bring a shade structure.

Absolutely beautiful area for camping. The restroom is clean and there are trash and recycling bins available. Access to the river is superb—fishers and river goers will enjoy the easy and close proximity to the water.

A gorgeous, clean, wonderful, easy to get to camping area on the River. Had no problem getting in and out in my 32ft motorhome. I think we paid only $7.00 a night. Unbeatable and unforgettable.

Another really nice campground here in New Mexico. Down in the Orilla Verde Rio Grande gorge it's a great place to raft, fish, hike and bike or just relax. I've never been disappointed camping there.

It is a beautiful spot but there is not much shade. If you stay here you may want to bring some kind of sun shelter. It appears to be a popular place for fishing. Bring sunscreen and bug spray. At only $5 per night, it is a good value.

This is the best campground within Orilla Verde Recreation Area, and site #3 is the best site within Arroyo Hondo. This is a small, primitive campground with only 5 sites (no running water, only one pit toilet). Though close to the road, said road is not at all heavily trafficked. Additionally, site #3 is located down a few stairs, closer to the banks of the Rio Grande, so it's quite private. This is a beautiful place to take in the canyon and the river. It's also close to many hiking trails within the recreation area as well as Taos. I'd love to stay here again!
