Have camped all over Alabama and this campground, by far, is the worst. Not because of the site, sites are nice, not because of the shower houses, they’re clean. This campground is the worst because of the staff that run it. They’re unwelcoming, rude, and have no place in being campground hosts/staff. I feel they’re just out for the money and not for their patrons to have a fun, enjoyable camping experience. We had a large group and all of us said this will be our last time here. Unless the management of this campground changes, good luck with keeping it full.

Seriously, our favorite place in the summer! The whole area is clean and well kept. It’s just a good time all around! Swimming at the beach is the best!

I’ve saw some n native reviews but I had no such experiences. Staff was friendly all the way around. Great location for swimming spacious site we tent camp. Bathrooms were on par for a campground. Away from the loop at the water it was slower and not crowded. Easy access to deeper excursions into Bankhead and sipsey.

This is one of my favorites. It is woods & water. The premo sites are the water sites of course but most sites are good. Bear & Fawn loops are more woodsy where the other 2 loops (Fox & Hoot Owl) have water views from some sites. There is a beach area outside the campground. There are multiple signs posted informing of no swimming at your campsite. They are strict about folks parking off pad...DON'T DO IT!! I wish other CGs would follow suit. This is why this campground stays so beautiful. Oh... and wear tick repellent for any hikes through the woods. We picked approx 11 off of us while there the week leading up to Memorial Day.

Clear Creek has been a family favorite for quite a while now. We could have chosen a better day to come because the water was up from recent rains & the beach was covered. But, that's on us for not considering the recent rains. The area is very well maintained with several 'bath' houses to use the restroom or change clothes in. They have several private picnic tables set up that also have a small charcoal grill. There are also covered pavilions (have to pay to rent) for parties or larger gatherings. There is a designated swimming area/beach & several different walking & bicycle trails. It really is a beautiful area. Admission is $10/carload up to 6 people.

Each site is private with lots of trees and shade. Hiking and biking trailheads inside the campground. Hilly campground area but sites are level. Verizon phone signal is weak.

OK Park, I guess. Showed up in the middle of a beautiful Thursday in May and had to pay $10 to look around. Only one other car in the entire day use area. Twice as many staff as patrons. Bathrooms were locked and all water was still turned off. Never been too impressed with the management of Forest Service sites with or without improvements.

Great park. Nice big lake. Great camp sites. Electric. Big rigs . Bathroom ok . Shower ok.

Beautiful scenery. When we checked in, we were not made aware of any bathrooms locked on the campsite. Went to 3 different pavilions with bathrooms with guests that had feminine issues to take care of. They were all locked without notice. Then when we called the front. The one restroom they said was open in the whole park had NO TOILET PAPER, toilets were clogged, no soap, and the hand dryer wasn’t working. Do a little better. I still have a hard time wrapping my head around the need to close multiple restrooms on a public park. Especially people with kids knowing the last thing you want them to do is to pop a squat on a public campground right beside a restroom that could easily have been accessible if it wasn’t for the staff.

I was fortunate enough to “have to” spend a week at Clear Creek Recreation Area while waiting for my truck to get repaired. Loved the place! Hiked, kayaked, mountain biked, swam, and napped my way through the week. Ok, and worked some, too, although cell signal can be spotty. Tammy, Barbara, and the rest of the crew were very accommodating. (Special thanks to Bruce for moving my camper for me on his weekend off!) The camping and day use areas were tidy.

Nice campground, swimming & fishing lake. We did not like the timed showers. They click off ever 6 seconds. Hard to push in. If you got a lot of hair this is a bad deal. Clean bathrooms, lovely area.

Very nice relaxing campground. Great bike trail so bring your bikes! Water sites are nicer but any site is still good.

I would like to give this place an excellent rating. Unfortunately one of the park hosts has completely ruined this place for us. She was constantly watching our campsite and giving us warnings for every single issue she could find. For example we had one tire off the asphalt in the dirt. We woke up to a warning on our truck. Another time I was loading stuff into my car to leave for work and as soon as I walked inside to get my backpack she came to tell me that I absolutely must move my car right this instant, it was blocking the road that had maybe one car per hour. I'll not be staying here again nor will any of the other campers that came with us.

Myself and my 2 kids, and my niece and her husband all went and we had a blast. It's a great place to pack a picnic and take the kids to swim. It wasnt that crowded. And it's a clean, safe place to carry the family for the day or for a weekend. Whereas they have campsites.

Nice campground clean bathhouses great view very clean. Nice place to relax and enjoy the beauty. Didn’t see much wildlife tho and fishing off the bank was not as good as I thought would be but overall had a nice time
