Very nice campground loved it just very small things we didn’t like about it. 1. Our site was very close to the road so lots of road noise but nothing we can do. 2. It rained for about 2 days not the bad part. Bad part was the flooding throughout the campground. Luckily our site didn’t get it that bad. Other sites VERY BAD. Again can’t do anything about it just prepare for this if it happens. Bathroom/ shower house was nice had some ADULT guests act like kids and can’t just not be animals that’s not on the campground they did their job and had it all cleaned up. Very quiet place not close to anything but that’s not the problem. Can walk to the little diner at the end of the walking path. Would I recommend this place YES!!!! Absolutely!!!! Will we be back? Oh yeah I would go back.

It was okay Nice helpful staff Our spot was next to a cute playground Fairly good size site but they are all different Left two days ago Noisy road and mud puddles Small showers Saw one hiking trail, but no trail for bikes Some sites were on higher ground and maybe quieter We would go again … nice but not my favorite

We had a paved full hook up site which we greatly appreciated on the rainy days. There is road noise, but it becomes white noise and even lighter/less noticeable at night. Restrooms were well maintained and clean...best we've seen in many years!

This campground is a medium sized one compared to others we've been to, the staff was more than helpful and very friendly. Recommend viewing all the spots available when reserving as some tend to sit lower and drainage might be an issue. We'd definitely stay there again if we go back north.

Nice camping ground with one flaw. It's right next to a road that always has traffic on it. We stayed in the middle of the campground in a tent and we heard trucks going by all night. We also stayed a night in the back of the park and could hardly hear the traffic. The restrooms and showers were clean. Beautiful view of the Bay. If it wasn't so smoky from the wildfires the sunrise would have been awesome. Mostly shaded camp sites. Great location being an hour away from a lot of things to do in any direction.

I was so impressed with this park! It is so well maintained, the bathrooms are spotless, AND they have a really nice walking/running/biking trail that starts at the park and goes about 3 miles through town. Really appreciate the plastic and can recycling too. They also have a 3/4 mile nature trail, but don’t forget the bug spray on that! They even have events! Some this week were bingo, coffee and doughnuts and crafts! We will definitely be back, thank you!

A lot of campers give Baraga a bad rap because it’s right on M41 and it’s supposedly noisy. We stayed on Memorial Day weekend and one would assume a high traffic weekend. We were not bothered by the road noise at all. It’s a quite little park. Very nice sites, very nice showers. Highly recommend.

Wonderful state park and friendly staff. Campsites for tents to mansions on wheels. The park has 2 buildings with bathrooms and there are private showers with hot water, clean restrooms and well manicured grounds. Sites don’t offer a lot of privacy from your neighbors but there are lots of small trees that may provide decent shade depending on your site. The fire pits are unlike any I’ve seen before and they do not put off a lot of heat because of the design and CANNOT be moved. There’s a great trail that begins at the campground and goes through town and ends at a lighthouse, about 6.5 miles round trip. Wide side walk is great for walking or bike riding. Pics included for trail reference. ::TIP:: Try to get a site away from the road, if possible, the road stays busy all day and night with commuters and truckers and you’ll hear em. The train tracks don’t seem to be in use?! Never heard it running throughout the stay, so don’t be afraid to stay in the back close to the tracks. You can/SHOULD get the Michigan state parks Passport if you plan on visiting or camping in the state’s recreation areas for 4 nights or more a year. Daily non Michigan plated vehicle rates are $11 or $40 for the year. Call ahead to check availability at your preferred campground, you can save $8-$10 on your reservation by doing a walk up campsite. Reservations online or over the phone cost $8-$10.

We stayed at a full hookup site for a week in August. We loved this park! It's fairly small but has everything. Two nice bathhouses, a playground and hiking trails. There is no train, the tracks behind aren't in use. There is road noise, but it was never bothersome. Across the highway, there's a park with small boat launches and benches. You could probably swim there if you wanted, but there's a nice beach in L'Anse.

We had a great campsite at this state park - #12. Not only did we have full hook-ups (30 amp power), the site was paved - including the picnic area and firepit area. And the big bonus was that we faced an open field with no camping in it! Also - it was on a turn - so backing in was a breeze. Yes, the campground is just off the highway so there is some highway noise and the lake front is across the street, but still our site was lovely. Hosts were friendly and helpful.
