Location & Surroundings
Located in Clinton, Montana, the park is easily accessible via Exit 138 off Interstate 90. Despite its proximity to the highway, the site feels secluded due to its placement between the flowing river and the rolling hillsides. The surrounding landscape is defined by the Sapphire Mountains and the expansive Clark Fork valley, offering travelers wide-open sky views and frequent sightings of local wildlife. It is positioned roughly 30 miles east of the vibrant city of Missoula, providing a perfect balance between remote nature and urban accessibility.

The park provides a range of accommodations, including spacious full hookup RV sites that cater to various rig sizes with both 30 and 50-amp electrical service. Guests benefit from direct access to the river, making it easy to enjoy the water at any time. The property also features cozy chalets and cabins for those traveling without an RV, creating a diverse and welcoming community of outdoor enthusiasts and road trippers.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Outdoor recreation is the primary draw for visitors to this specific region of Montana. The Clark Fork River is renowned for blue-ribbon fly fishing, allowing anglers to cast lines for trout just steps from their campsites. History buffs will appreciate the short drive to Garnet Ghost Town, which is one of Montana's most remarkably preserved historic mining camps. For a change of pace, travelers can head into nearby Missoula to explore local craft breweries, the University of Montana campus, and a variety of cultural dining experiences.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is an ideal choice for cross-country road trippers looking for a reliable and scenic place to rest during a long journey. It also perfectly suits nature photographers and anglers who desire immediate access to Montana’s iconic river landscapes. Because it offers a unique blend of highway accessibility and quiet natural beauty, it is best for travelers who prefer a relaxed, independent environment over a high-activity commercial resort atmosphere.

This roadside RV park is one of those rare "overnight" campgrounds that I wished I stayed longer than one night on the way to Yellowstone NP. The location near the freeway was easy, but the best part was Sharon, one of the owners. She was so helpful making our stay enjoyable. From the first time I talked to her on the phone to make the reservation (so easy) to meeting her when we arrived (easy check in and she let us choose our site before parking) everything was wonderful. Some might not like hearing the freeway, but it wasn't terrible. The bathrooms and showers were also spotless. Sharon also told us to not miss going to the excellent ghost town nearby. The RV park is very close to the more rugged southern entryway which needs an SUV with decent ground clearance to visit, but it's worth it. Overall I am super impressed with this park and more importantly, the owners who have pride of ownership and great customer service.

Traveling across the country, Bearmouth was the best RV park we stayed. Sharon and her husband were the nicest, most hospitable and accommodating people we dealt with. They really made us feel like family. The grounds and facilities are very nice and clean and the laundry is one of the cheapest places we found. The nightly stays are also very reasonably priced. We will definitely stay again when in the Missoula area.

We stayed for two days in the RV park as a reststop between glacier and Yellowstone and could not have picked a better place. The campground and facilities are spotless and Sharon and Paul are the best hosts we have ever encountered, they went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The surroundings are beautiful as well. Would definitely recommend!

We had the most wonderful experience staying at Bearmouth Chalet and RV Park. We stayed in their newly renovated lodge rooms and they were stunning. The perfect place for families or individuals, very safe and comfortable. My husband said it was the best sleep he has had in a long time. It was the perfect stop along I-90 to rest and it is perfectly tucked between Butte and Missoula. Paul and Sharon take such beautiful care of the property, and are the most hospitable hosts. Truly kind and generous people. Definitely recommend and will be visiting again!

Great place to stop for a night or two. Easy on and off the freeway. It would be a super fun spot for a group of RV campers. Don't let the comments about the train or road noise stop you as it isn't bad at all. Sharon and Paul were amazing hosts and helped us out of a technical jam or two during our two night stay. Wonderful people! Thank you!
