This lake is NASTY, bathroom DIRTY. I’ve never had a problem with paddling to keep myself afloat, this lake is eerie. My gosh even my mom who knows how to keep herself afloat almost drowned here, it’s like the paste of the water is thick and hard to swim. PLEASE keep a warning sign of venomous snakes or animals that could be in the body of water, near where people usually dive off. - I’ve never liked the bathroom one bit, every time we came here when I was young. Also if you’re reading this, PICK UP AFTER YOURSELF! no one wants to pick up after your mess. The tables are always dirty.

I am a 65-year-old disabled man. I recently spent four nights at Hickory Creek Campground. I was very pleased with how nice and clean the campground was and how peaceful it was the whole time. There was one incident that I must Inform others about if you happen to walk off from something DON'T expect it to be there when you get back. As I said, I'm a 65-year-old disabled man living on a very limited income and fishing is one thing I really enjoy. I was fishing over by the boat ramp 1 afternoon and when I left I forgot my tackle box with ALL OF MY TACKLE IN IT . The very next morning I noticed my Tackle Box gone and I remembered then where I had it last when I went back over to get it needless to say it had been stolen. I can't imagine someone would think a person would walk away from someone like that and not come back for it when they noticed it missing. I can only hope whoever stole my tackle will enjoy it and get lots of good use out of it and I hope they Sleep well at night.

If you’re tent camping, wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you’re planning to stay up (very) late or bring earplugs. I’ve never stayed in a campground that had such a lack of common courtesy in the general attitude of many campers. None of the stated restrictions seem to be enforced despite watching two park rangers drive through. Day and night: loud music, yelling (adults and kids), and tons of cars. General vibe was a weird mix of giant house party and giant field trip with no chaperones. Campground itself was set in a pretty area and most of the sites seemed decent, just close together. I stayed in the first loop and the sites were pretty much on top of each other until you got near the bathrooms. The bathroom door slammed loudly, so I imagine that made it up for them. Flushing toilets, which is nice. Probably a fun spot for RVs and groups. Wouldn’t lose money and sleep tent camping here again.

We always have a great relaxing time at camp. Hickory Creek provides some spacious sites..some beautiful sunrise's and it's somewhat easy to navigate, even with some of the larger 5th wheels. The park attendants are usually very friendly and a good source of information.
