Stayed 2 nights during the week. It was so busy but fairly quiet. The lake is pretty. The bathrooms were a disappointment. No place to hang anything outside the showers so your bag or towel has to be left on the floor or on the sink and the shower stalls are too small to bring it in with you and it gets soaked if you try. We had a hard time locating our site and bath houses due to lack of good signs to follow. There were so many different roads! Got stuck turning around in dead end campsites thinking the road went all the way through. There was no sign saying it was a dead end. Not my favorite place.

It is not stated anywhere, but this campsite apparently does not allow changing tents. The facilities are POOR.  Rangers will cite non-existent rules that are not posted anywhere while NOT enforcing rules that are posted. Bathrooms are scarce and DISGUSTING.  if you don’t have an RV with an inside toilet, go somewhere else. Lots of dogs off leash.

The campground overall is not horrible but not great. The shower house is full of bugs and no hooks to hang up anything when you shower. Hope you are not allergic to giant murder hornets. They are living inside the electrical box and under the picnic tables at your site. Also adding the campsites had a lot of trash and debris left from campers. Needs sprucing up a bit.

This camp ground is nice. Come with just electric, but is a great place to go relax. Lots of shade areas. Water is very nice. I do beleave some site to also have water, but ours did not. Will go back again.

I want to give this place 5 stars, but I just can’t. I assume it’s at least partly the TrumpCuts, but this place needs attention.

The bathrooms and showers are a joke/nightmare. They are filthy, full of bugs, there’s no soap or sanitizer, and over the course of a week they were “mopped” once (meaning muddy water was moved around the center of the floor and all bugs left in place).

The location is fantastic. Great swimming, paddleboarding, all sorts of watersports. Spots right on the lake! Just gorgeous.

I left a day earlier than planned because some of the spots are just too close together and alas, I was stuck in one. Frankly, this is not a state with a respectful camping culture. (Lots of outdoor TVs. Insane.)

It’s worth a trip, but bring your own bathroom setup, and choose your spot carefully.

We were only there for one night and stayed in site 138 , it’s the lesser of the good facilities available at the campground but it was all we needed. Grounds could use a good cleanup mowing and limb removal , pit toilet was very clean , Lake was up high due to the spring rains!
Rec.gov continues to be an issue . We were there on a Thursday and also needed to stay Friday night , no one in this section of the campground when we left later in the day on Friday but they would not allow one night due to their 2 night minimum for weekends , totally ridiculous when the place is empty .. called to talk with them and that took 45 min , this is not how you should spend your vacation time . I would give our experience a 3.5 star if the ratings allowed such.

Nice campground with lots of mature trees.  We had a back-in site that was a bit awkward to get into as it was perpendicular to the road (site #119).  We made it work.  Many of the sites throughout the park have asphalt that's busted up in need of repairs.  Bathhouse left a lot to be desired ... no where to hang a towel or put clothes while showering.  Quite a drive from town to the campground.  Lots of deer in the area.  Pretty lake.  Grass was in need of mowing, was quite tall.  The crew finally came through on a Friday morning and mowed it.  No one at the gate house until Friday, and they just waved folks through without checking reservation status.

5/13/24 - My electric-only site was in the far WEST section of the campground and offered amazing views of the sunset. I was able to paddleboard right from my campsite (which I had hoped for!) and the water in the little inlets near the campground were typically very calm. You can paddle to several really scenic areas within ONE mile. Great hikes in the area at Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area. My neighbors were very friendly and even shared some local firewood with me. I used the communal showers that were on the other side of the campground but it worked out fine. Very friendly woman working in the welcome booth. I would definitely go back!

I tent camped at site 78 in an inner loop with electric only sites and no toilets.

There are only 2 buildings with showers for the entire campground. I used the west one which had 1 toilet, 1 shower, and 1 ADA shower. I chose odd times to take my shower and didn't have a problem except there's no bench and an inadequate hook. Even though the campground was pretty full the bathroom facility was clean.

Horseshoe Bend Campground forbids all changing tents! A ranger make me take down mine.

Two nights of my stay were sleepless thamks to screaming children in the tent next door.

Lots of shade, sites were well spaced. We found a reasonable path down to the lake for kayaking.

The bluffs are lovely and interesting. I will probably return but probably not during peak season.

Only 15 minutes from Rogers!

Area felt safe and clean. Pretty campsite and LOVED that it was so close (comparatively) to town. My family enjoys camping but hate the 2-3 hour drive we have to endure sometimes. Lots of RVs there too if you can afford that kind of thing. Haha
