Benson KOA Journey

Found this KOA on our way west to Joshua Tree from Texas. The campground is just before Tucson and away from the crowds. The staff were very friendly and went above and beyond to help us out. The restrooms and showers are brand new and very well maintained. The park is surrounded by really nice vistas and is far enough from the highway to keep it quiet but it’s still a short drive away. The pool and hot tub are currently under construction but they look amazing so far. Hope to be by again soon. Thanks for having us. 🙏

We stayed here for 3 nights in our 30 foot travel trailer, with full hookups. It was a great experience. They are doing some updating to the campground. The bathrooms, showers, laundry facility and office were all super clean, 5 star. The workers were very pleasant and knowledgeable. We were not sure what to expect this far south but were pleasantly surprised. We would stay here again, no doubt.

Excellent rv park. Friendly staff. Quiet. Big spacious sites and connections were all in great shape. Cable(we didn't use it) Wifi was ok for phones or tablets, but it did keep going in and out. Very clean grounds and facilities. Store, propane, recroom(the grandkids loved it), playground and dog park, horse shoes & sand bag game. A small pool and spa is being put in but wasn't open yet, so that will be a fun addition. There were lots of Mesquite trees in the back area, but they didn't have any leaves at this time of year, so shade was none, but it's just starting to warm up here. Good central location for area attractions like Tombstone, Colossal Cave, Kartchner Caverns, Chiricahua National Monument, Mount Lemmon, Saguaro National Park, Fort Bowie. Reasonable price. Thank you, BENSON KOA!

This is an RV park not a hotel. It has recently been remodeled and they have done a good job. Owner is very friendly and the staff is very personable. Everything is very clean. We like that it is more out in the desert and away from the town. Fabulous views of the mountains all the way around. Good for an overnight stay or for a few days.

Stayed for 2 nights while we explored Bisbee and Tombstone. Site was perfect for us at 53' long and a car parked next to RV. Gravel roads in and all around area. Level site. Very few amenities but I don't use them anyway so I didn't care. Good area to walk my 2 dogs and also look for scorpions at night, didn't find any but lots of nests around the area. Easy to find and get too and all employees are nice and friendly and helpful. Has a small playground with a tether ball! 1 of only a few in the park during our stay and half the park was under remodel along with the pool.

Need a place to sleep... come here, cabins just down the road from Dennys, tent spots on site! Just need some propane... come here, cheapest prices with great Americans!

They are working on upgrading this campground and when they are done it will be really nice! The bathrooms are clean and have been remodeled. The only negative thing is that the sinks are very high and there is no low sink for people using a wheelchair.

Mid-March 2022 Best I can say is "never again". Dusty, dirty, bumpy and very tight short RV sites. wifi is very weak and not at all good for streaming or downloads. There are many better places in the area. Wish we had known that before we visited this area,

We stayed here over Thanksgiving week, driving from California. We arrived late, but everything was setup. We loved that it is off the road - very quiet! Great signage so even late at night we had no issue finding it. It is clear they are working on changes so it will be interesting to see what they do. We would definitely go back again!
