Staying at the A-frame cabin at Big Sur Campground was an absolutely unforgettable experience! Nestled among towering redwoods, the cabin offers the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. It’s well-equipped with three sleeping place, two cozy lofts, a fireplace, and a fully stocked kitchen. They provide toiletries, towels, wooden blankets, and everything else you need for a relaxing getaway. The attention to detail is incredible—crisply clean linens, comfortable pillows and blankets, and even candles in glass jars for a warm, cozy touch. The reservation includes unlimited ice, a bundle of firewood, swimming tubes for river floating, and two beautifully branded tea cups as a souvenir. Plus, the outdoor setup is just as inviting, with a fire hoop, deck chairs, and plenty of space to enjoy the natural surroundings. If you’re looking for an unforgettable escape in Big Sur, this place is an absolute gem. Highly recommend!

Pros - Location is hard to beat. Right in the redwoods, next to the river, in close distance to Big Sur sights. The service was good. Our receptionist was very nice and recommended touring locations. Cons - Mildewy smell that permeated even our clean clothes after the trip. Leaky toilet that left water pooling on the ground. Bed sheet stains. Curtains that didn't cover the window fully so we didn't have 100% privacy. Also no sleeping in if you're sensitive to light. Couldn't run the heater and the stove at the same time - breaker would trip. Crappy WiFi that worked only sometimes. Our fire site was a walk away and positioned in the mud, while others had theirs close. (Avoid cabin 10 if you choose to go) Not worth $600 for two nights. I will not be returning.

My wife and I loved staying here in a little cabin. Having the warmth of a warm gas fireplace made for cozy nights, even in winter, seeing the sun set between the trees. The staff was very friendly and had great recommendations on places to eat and hikes to do. We definitely plan to be back.

Been coming here for 32 years. My mother has been coming since the campgrounds inception. Now that the price has increased from 90/night in the summer of 21 to 200+/night for next summer we sadly won’t be returning. New owners based in New York who purchased the campground for 28,000,000 (not a typo) have jacked the prices. I wonder what else they will ruin inside the campground. Our friends own the place next door. So we will watch the demise from close by. Bye Big Sur campgrounds and cabins. It was a good 70 year run. All good things come to an end.

We camped here for the first time last weekend. It's expensive but they take good care of the place, offer free tea and coffee and have a camp store for the things you forgot. The place is quiet and people are respectful. And of course the location is amazing. We will be back!

Cabin was beautiful, well stocked, comfortable and very clean. Site had wonderful amenities like pay phone, laundry, and a fantastic playground. We will definitely come back again to stay here.

This place is the best! It’s family friendly, the staff is incredible, and it transports you back to a time before technology took over our lives. No wifi means family bonding, filling the hours with physical work, kicking back, and good old fashion wholesome fun. Apart from being conveniently located in Big Sur, you can hang at the campground all day long and find things to do. Highly recommend this business! The playground is perfect for young kids, teach your older kids how to manage camp, or take a dip in their refreshing water basin. A hidden gem. Worth every dollar. I’m The summer time they have soft serve ice cream that is simple and delicious. We like river sites, the sound of water rushing is excellent for falling asleep to. Cheers to this campground!
