Well I will start at the beginning of our  crazy trip. My family and I were heading to camp north of salida when our tow vehicle gave out just a half a mile from the bighorn to the west. I had my 19 year daughter and her boyfriend walk back the bighorn to see if there was any spots available. To my surprise one of the owners Aaron came to are rescue and towed us to an open site. Which gave me a chance to rescue our vacation and alow my family to have there well deserved vacation rest. For the camp ground it is a 10 out of 10, the owners and amazing grounds keeps have made a bad trip in to on of our most favorite and loved trip ever. To Aaron his wife  Brenda and Rhea as well as Aaron's lovely mother thank you so much for allowing use to be apart of your amazing camping experience.

Great place.  The hotel is in no way a 5 star, but for what it is it is a 10.  Staff is wonder, friendly,  accommodating and attentive.
I would love to revisit this area and stay here again.

Very relaxing stay.  Awesome owners were super friendly.  River access and a pool were great for my kids.

We were really disappointed by our recent experience with this camping community. During our last stay, our family was respectful, followed the rules, and paid a significant amount of money to be there. Unfortunately, there were issues caused by other people that were completely out of our control, yet we are now being denied the opportunity to return.
What makes this especially upsetting is that my daughter wanted to celebrate her 5th birthday here because she loved it so much the first time. Instead of being treated fairly as returning guests, we were essentially punished for circumstances we did not create.
We understand communities need rules and standards, but it’s frustrating when loyal, respectful families are not given the benefit of the doubt or even a chance to explain. We truly enjoyed the location itself, which is why this situation has been so disappointing.

This is our 4th year camping at Bighorn RV Park, the owners are one of the many reasons we come back! There always up to share a good story or give advice on 4wheelin trails or anything else you want to go do.
You won't find a better location at the river. We always get the lower tent spots, the river and mountains are what we wake up to literally 15 feet away.  The park is super clean, and not far from town, The fly fishing is great, this years weather is unusual, but not stopping the fish!
Highly recommend, they have everything! Tent spots with power, ample RV parking spaces, including pull through and back in. All RVs have full hook up!
Mini bunk houses sitting up over the river, just walk out onto the porch for a great view!  Cabins plus a great picnic area with grills and a small boat launch. Summer time there is an in ground swimming pool, and a great kids playground!

Stayed using an RV (C Class). Well appointed and professionally run. Access to the river for fishing. Bathroom facilities are very clean and well cared for. Park hosts and staff are friendly and welcoming. Road noise can be a little loud occasionally.
Have not stayed in the rooms but based upon the rest of the park, I would think they are also well maintained.

Great RV campground! It's a beautiful area and so close to the river. The restrooms are clean and that's nice when you travel to have clean restrooms. There is fishing access to the river and it's so pretty. We stayed in our camper but they have cabins and great tent camping spots as well. Unfortunately we did have to walk our dogs in the dark and I ran into a pole sticking out of the ground that is used for horse shoes so use a flashlight when walking in the dark. Overall a great spot and we were visiting from Colorado Springs and we'll definitely stay here again.

I have driven past this campground several times over the years on vacations. This year I decided to book a night. What a great decision!

The owner is so welcoming and helpful. We had an easily accessible full hookup site. The hookups all worked great.

The pool is very nice and the restrooms are spotless. Being able to walk down to the river was awesome. We enjoyed sitting in our lawn chairs watching the sunset from the yard area by the pool.

I have always enjoyed campgrounds like this one where the owners take pride in providing a great camping experience.

Headed toward Salida? Stay here! My highest recommendation!

We’ve stayed at Bighorn 3 times now, camping at campsites #1 and #2 down by the river and it has been absolutely fantastic.  Brenda and Aaron are the best! Their motto of customer first shows every time.  The bathroom/showers are always clean, a requirement for the wife. The Campsites are right on the water and secluded from the RV park and the view of the river and canyon hills on the other side is breathtaking. With a little luck you can see bighorn sheep visiting the river to drink.  We are checking out tomorrow and plan to make our reservations next July for our 4th visit.  Thanks Brenda and Aaron!

Great place to stay. I was only there for two days but they are very welcoming. Had a chance to fish the river there at the campground and had great luck both days. The average size of the trout was 17 inches. It's not far from Canyon city or the Royal Gorge.

This RV park with cabins is a wonderful hidden gem. The river along one side and the mountains along the other, you can’t find better views. We had plenty of space between us and our neighbors and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly the whole time we were here. Completely recommend!!

Awesome place for camping and hiking, rafting and the owners are very nice and friendly people stayed 2 weeks. Last spring.I plan to stay again for a a week or two come  May 2022

Beautiful place to stay right on the Ar-Kansas river! ;) Stayed the night in an RV with my family. The owners were extremely accommodating to us showing up late and allowed us to pay in the morning. The owner was extremely nice and gave us several recommendations of places to go and things to do in Salida. I would definitely recommend you stay at this RV spot!

It's not a bad place maybe if you need to stop overnight or have something going on in the area and you need to stay just one night. Although I am not used to hearing all of the road noise from highway 50!!! and DO NOT!! forget to bring your Surge Protector absolutely necessary!!! I didn't bring mine I got two heavy power surges one of them completely took out the fan and my bathroom,  I left early because of this. The park is cute, it has a swimming pool, and a playground, and cabins for the family, great music on weekends and staff very friendly and kind.  Most important do not forget a Surge Protector!!!!

I just love this place.  They really do have something for everyone.  Have been coming here for 35 years and have seen three different owners now.  I can't help but wonder though what happened with the pool last weekend.  It was very cloudy so I didn't go in.  Aside from that we had a great time and the owners were great.
