The Black Warrior Tombigbee Coe Jennings Ferry Akron is a historic ferry site located in Akron, Alabama. The ferry was established in 1818 and operated until the early 1900s. It was used to transport people and goods across the Black Warrior and Tombigbee Rivers. The ferry was named after the Coe family, who owned the land on which the ferry operated. The ferry was also known as the Jennings Ferry, after the family who operated it. The site is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Black Warrior-Tombigbee - Jennings Ferry, Akron, AL

Enjoy watching the barges go by from your waterfront campsite. A beautifully manicured and clean campground with full hookups, clean showers and a dump stations. Take a walk down the short trail while listening to birds and watching the squirrels, or cast your line out at the water’s edge for a fat bass. There is also a nice playground for the kids. At night it’s quiet except for the occasional owl,  and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Very nice campground with lots of space between sites. Most sites back up to the water. Right now, sites don't have sewer but they have a dump station.  Very quiet area and very clean well kept facilities.  People working there are nice and eager to help out. If you are not there to fish and or relax, there is not much else to do around the area. We enjoyed spending a couple of days here.

Absolutely lovely.Park spacious concrete slabs, beautiful views from almost any spot. Lots of trees in shade. All staff we encountered were excellent, Sweet, friendly kind, helpful, supportive! Five star for sure I would give it six if I could!

This is the cleanest campground that I have ever seen! Sites were nicely spaved apart. Watched tugboats on the Warrior River. Hosts were great!

This is a beautiful,  well kept campground.  It is dog friendly, and had easy access to the Black Warrior river for fishing. The sites are clean and the area is so pretty.

This is a great place to stay. There are fishing & boating areas. Otherwise you can just relax and enjoy the views.

Sites are nice and shady with water & electric. There is a dump site near the entrance.

So, this place was a nice surprise. Arrived here and there was a nice old volunteer couple at the front entrance. Wife at the window, husband killing bees (which was awful). They asked if I'd like a nicer site, and I said yes. So, they gave me one by the water with a deck, 13. This backs up to the boat ramp. Which would be a problem in the main season, but we were only here 2 days and there were not many boats this time of year. Would not want this site in season. Actually, would not want to be here in season because boaters equal noise and drunkenness. But for us it was very quiet. Restrooms were surprisingly clean. And I mean clean all the way up. Normally in a CG they only clean-up to 5 ft high. But the ceiling was clean. No spider webs, no dirty windows, no dead bugs in the light covers. The restroom building is sinking and there are stress fractures in the walls and tiles. Some tiles have broken and fallen off. Which is a safety hazard. Showers have no doors, only curtains. But they get hot and have good pressure. The laundry room is permanently closed. Fortunately, we just did laundry but still disappointing. Drinking fountains don't work. There is a nice playground next to the bathroom. We were only here 2 days as a stopover on our way west. I would never go out into town, the only things out there are misinformation, poverty, despair and gun stores. Lots of houses with extremist flags, yards filled with derelict vehicles, old furniture and broken appliances. It's ok for an overnight but that is about it. When you turn off the highway onto the road leading to the park be very careful. There is a very steep hill with large potholes at the bottom. We camped at Jennings Ferry Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We absolutely love this park what a great experience. The staff was over and above the top. Very friendly people, it was very cold. And they brought us some firewood, very much appreciated., the bathrooms were very clean and while maintained and nice hot showers.

The sites were spacious and well kept. Bathhouse was clean with hot showers. Good place for fishing and boating. Our site as well as many others had beautiful views of sunsets.
