The crew working on our street today had blocked the trash cans and when the truck came, stopped working to get the cans out and dumped. My wife and I very much appreciate the extra effort from the crew. Thank you!

I have never experienced such a frustrating and inconsiderate service from a power company in my life. Idaho Power shut off my electricity without a single letter, phone call, email, or prior notice for over a month. The only notice I ever received was a paper taped to my door — and that was after the power had already been turned off. I came home after a 12-hour shift (6 AM to 6 PM), exhausted and starving, only to walk into a dark home with no power and no explanation. My fridge had been off long enough that my food was almost warm, and I couldn’t even cook a simple meal. I hadn’t eaten in over 7 hours and just wanted a hot plate of food. Instead, I was left in the dark — literally. I called Idaho Power immediately and over the next 3 hours, I called them 4 to 5 times, each time explaining my situation clearly: I was home, I was hungry, my food was spoiling, and I needed the power restored urgently. Every time I called, I was told, “someone will be there soon.” But no one could give me a straight answer. Eventually, a representative told me they had only one technician serving Garden City, Boise, and Meridian — a shockingly inadequate response for a major utility provider. Then, to make matters worse, they started guilt-tripping me, saying that “other people also need their power turned on.” I understand that others need help too — that’s obvious — but to be guilted by a utility company after doing nothing wrong and waiting hours in a dark, powerless home is completely unprofessional and a very poor excuse. If there’s only one technician for three major cities, that’s a staffing and planning issue on their end, not mine. What makes it even more frustrating is how quickly they are to shut off someone’s power — but restoring it? That takes hours and no real urgency. This company has shown a complete lack of professionalism, empathy, and basic human decency. I genuinely believe Idaho Power is one of the most careless and inconsiderate companies I’ve ever had to deal with. They don’t just fail at customer service — they make their customers feel like a burden for needing the most basic service they’re paying for: electricity.

These people have screwed my bill up so bad that I almost have a nervous breakdown just thinking about it. Every time I call them for help it just gets worse, My bill isn’t due until September 11th. Right now it’s showing it’s past due and asking me to enter a payment arrangement. I just paid my bill 2 days ago. I don’t need this headache from Idaho Power. I’m currently in the middle of a chemotherapy regimen and the brain fog is horrendous. This added stress from Idaho Power is just adding to the misery. I truly hope the Idaho Public Utilities Commission reads these reviews. It’s inexcusable how Idaho Power treats customers.

Idaho power doesnt deserve any stars. Absolutely unprofessional utility company with even more unprofessional customer service to let people know about billing. I had moved and canceled service and was told I would have a small payment to pay in a few weeks. They then added the whole previous month, which no one had mentioned about, so it came out over 100$ more than told. Talk about a complete bullshit company

This company is so disappointing! My address was used by someone else and nobody notified me of the errors when it occured and corrected. The representative was asking why I didn’t check the monthly bill to notify this error? And no prevention action at all! They never notified me anything and just threw a large amount of bill and push me to pay!

If we could give them less than one star we would. We recently had Solar panels installed and while we have received numerous calls from Idaho power about going solar through their programs (it's been almost a year), we are also receiving notifications that the buyback rate is decreasing (meaning that we will be paying more in the off months). Additionally when we were having our solar system installed we were hoping to change out an old 100 amp service to a 200amp service, but Idaho power told our team that in order to do that we would have to foot the additional $20K bill to replace the transformer in the area (a transformer by the way that the electricians, and many neighbors have expressed concern with), a project that would benefit the entire neighborhood allowing so many of the older homes with older systems to upgrade to safer services. Basically Idaho power wants to upsell their solar systems and promote self-generation of power, but then they punish you for going solar by taking away the benefits.

Thank you Idaho Power company for charging us twice and then letting us know that you can’t refund by card but will make us wait a week for a check to be sent to us when we have other bills due and can’t wait a whole week due to your mistake. If you are electronically able to double charge someone then you can electronically refund someone without making them wait a whole week.

This company is so greedy. We got solar installed and the first year was great! No power bill besides a connection fee. We had no issues with generation. (Never needed to be serviced) However now they changed the rates we get paid half what they charge us for each kwh. You guys are scum. We get 5.95¢ to your 10.1¢. You not only removed all reason to get solar panels but are reaping the profits off people who did.

Thank you, Idaho power for letting our area have a 12 hour power outage that started at 6:30 PM last night right after I got home from work. Thank you for turning it back on at 7:00 AM right as I was walking out the door for work. (without a shower, because we run off a well and need power to run the pumps) But hey I'm sure my cat enjoys having power in the house while I'm gone. Thank you for making this such a common occurrence this summer that I just had to go and spent $2000 dollars to buy a generator to supplement your spotty service that I still get to pay for as well. I sure hope all the environmentally minded Tesla drivers out there that are saving the planet by driving their electric cars, are able to offset all the fossil fuel us folks up here along Hwy 21 are having to burn running generators because we can't get reliable power. Thank you for constantly giving us the opportunity to feel like we are camping in our home! I hope you are able to recognize sarcasm when you here it. Sincerely, A very unhappy customer.

Terrible service and lack of resources. I pray to god they will just cut my power and leave me alone. I’ve never seen A company so inefficient and lacking the proper infrastructure to run A 2024 energy company like this company do. Billing and payment is the worst thing to deal with. There is no real time processing system so you can never pay your bill and be done with it no even on A debit card. In 2024 I would need to go to my bank to get a money order or otherwise cash from ATM to go pay someone over the counter? Why can’t Idaho Power Company get up to speed? Being in the dark is better than dealing with this ancient pyramid.

Other than rude people everywhere, the grounds themselves were nice. By the time I woke up in the morning, the pit toilet had already been cleaned and stocked.

Primitive camp site. Cool area. Would be 5 star if the were more river-side sites.
