Nice lake with easy water acess for kayaks...dissapointed due high boat and jet skiers passing close at high speeds causing big wakes, had to use my safety flag at one. Good bass fishing.

Quiet, spacious campsites. Camp host is nice and helpful. Bathrooms are super clean Sure beats staying in an in town "parking lot" type of campground. Cell service is very good, too!

We stayed here for 4 nights. Two of the nights we were in site 6 with our 42ft 5th wheel and truck. The site was plenty long enough for the truck and trailer. The only issue is it’s a 30 amp site. We then moved to site 16 for the last two nights and it was also plenty long enough with 50 amp. A few of the first sites like 1-4 have full hookups the rest either are partial or none. The showers were pretty clean but the water is hot hot hot! They even have a caution sign on the door warning about it. There is a play ground for the kids and walking trails through the park. The water is super far away and not quick or easy to get to. It’s about a 10 to 15 minute walk. Be sure to take a spender web stick or you’ll be covered in webs and some decent sized spiders. The dump station is still closed. It is disappointing seeing how far back people have commented about it being under construction. It still is and there was never anyone there working on it. There are goat heads all over and some fun desert creatures for the kids to see. The first pictures are of site 6 the second set are of site 16.

The place appears to be closed, perfect for me. Not a soul in site. Found it on accident on my way to Carlsbad caverns. Hard to find free lakefront camping with privacy...

Was really looking forward to getting in the lake, but we were traveling in an RV and no real lake access via foot. The dump station was under renovation, which would have been helpful to know ahead of time. The bathrooms were clean, park was quiet, beautiful sunrises and sunsets....a good place for a zero day on our RV trip.

This is a very nice park. The sites are big. The surrounding area is very pretty. The bath/shower houses are updated & clean.

We reserved spot 38 in the Limestone Campground; it had a nice view, the tent pad was level and easy to set up on, our spot was quiet, a bit further away than most spots. Unfortunately, the electricity did not work and the restrooms were closed. Very disappointing. Check the electricity before setting up!

I found it to be pretty barren. Not many trails. Few birds. Too windy to kayak when we were there. Not interesting shoreline anyway. Lots to do off site though.

Did not have high expectations of Brantley Lake SP, so there was no disappointment when arriving. You don’t need to stop at the HQ building if you have a reservation just go to your site. The park is void of most trees there are a few Ponderosa Pines that have been in the park for a long time but there are also dead ones. Other shade is pick nick table covers, and some shrubs. The RV parking pads are paved but need some repairs, we had a view of the lake but the water levels are low. When we arrived we found out that the Dump station is closed, did not get any notification of this. Also while here the main water pump failed in the park so water pressure was low. We visited the park for 7 days and enjoyed the relative quietness but you can hear the truck traffic along Hwy 285 toward Artesia. We did take a day to drive to Carlsbad Caverns NP a must if you are in the area. There are some high winds and dust storms that can periodically pass through this area.
