Camden State Park is one of my absolute favorite State Parks in Minnesota. I think it's shocking that it's not busier and more popular! There is a fantastic swimming hole which is a great opportunity to cool off during the Summer months. The river flowing through the park is beautiful, and there's an awesome bridge and pathways through a lot of the park. I haven't done much hiking here, but there's clearly tons to explore.

Camden State Park was a pleasantly surprisingly great overall state park. From the entrance it kinda looked like it was just going to be rolling prairies. But if you drive down towards the beach, you actually get some quick elevation change and go down into a beautiful valley area with the Redwood River flowing through it. The beach is small and on a pond, but a nice feature. They have trout in the river to fish for. The Redwood lodge looks like it would be nice to rent.

The swimming pond was a welcomed treat after a hot and humid hike through the woods and prairie on the Hiking Club Trail! The pond is always frigid but honestly it felt so amazing after our hike, we jumped in with our clothes on! There were a lot of people (campers and locals) using the pond/beach. It is shallow in most spots for kids to splash around. Ideal for hot summer days! We camped n the lower campground and it was great for our group. It's definitely more out in the open but we hardly ever heard or saw our neighbors as everyone was out and about exploring. We went at the end of June and there were zero bugs which was also a nice treat. There were intense summer storms with a tornado spotted about an hour away from the campground and the Ranger came around to every campsite and told everyone where the shelter was and how far away the tornado and hail was because the cell phone service is very limited within the park.

Camden Park is a beautiful destination featuring a swimming pond, playground, and multiple picnic grounds. Visitors can also explore its peaceful hiking trails and a remote lake perfect for fishing, kayaking, and other activities.

This state park was pretty mellow and secluded and certainly did not disappoint. The upper campground was nice for a more tree covered, secluded camping vibe (what I saw of the lower campground seemed more like RV/trailer parking next to each other). The hiking was quite leisurely and pleasant on the Dakota Valley trail with prairie, forested area, and streams. Restrooms and facilities were clean and well maintained.

Sweet solitude! Mosquitos are low. The campsites are large. Morning dew was not here. The online reservation system makes it very easy to see if you will have neighbors or not. And I don't. This place is not a trailer park if you have been camping you know what I mean. There's just a few campers on the upper campground.

A fantastic state park in southwest MN! Hiking club trail is just right with some small up and down hills and great views (in the woods and prarie). They have an extremely nice swimming area with very clear water near the lower campground. We're staying at the upper campground and the spaces are a little more private up there. Lower campground has spots very close together. Rangers at the station were very nice and got us checked in quick. Only downside I would say is at the dump, only one water fill station for two separate campgrounds.

The lower campground has a circle which our kids enjoy riding bikes/scooters and doing chalk. There's also a small swimming beach and great hiking. The park also has geocaching, with new "trails" coming sumer 2024. Highly recommend the river trail. Northern Lights viewed 5.10.24 near upper campground.

Beautiful State Park. The park rangers where very kind. They let me set up camp early which was greatly appreciated! And I seen them drive through the campground often. Upper Campground was very quiet ( site #82) and spaced nice with privacy. Hiking Club trail was rugged at points but was a great hike by the river as well as prairie. The swimming pond was chilly but great way to cool off after a day of hiking. The only downside was the train that runs by the campground

Was surprised at how much I liked this park. Great trails in the river valley with newer signs. Big mature trees with lots of wildlife. Tons of parking, camping , and picnic areas in this park. Trout river runs through it.

This park is remarkable!!! Nice camping stores, very clean restrooms, and the most friendly caring staff!!!! While we stayed here camping we went to Marshall to see the fire works. They also have a nice swimming hole to cool off!!! The showers are nice and clean. Also this park sells ice and fire wood. Me and my wife sure had a good time here 🏕!!!!!! Thankyou Minnesota for Providing us Minnesotans great places to escape to!!!!!!

Amazing little getaway from the city life. Not much of a loop trail, but still amazing to walk along the creek. It can be busier mid summer, but still too far from large crowds. The trout fishing there was awesome - pro-tip: use small size spinners. As ways, be respectful and you'll get your peace.

I really liked the large expanse of grassland set on rolling hills. Many state parks have *some* great features. Camden has many and they're each a high quality experience.

Great strails and scenery! Camping was fun but the site being completely surrounded by itch weed was a different - make sure your kiddos know not to touch! Staff is always wonderful. Great place to be!
