Kim at the front desk made our dreams come true. After boondocking for several days, we were out of water and our batteries were getting low. She got is in last minute, held a site for us while we drove to the park, and helped us get settled in early. So hopeful to have one less thing to worry about when travelling with a teenager. Thank you! Accommodations ar exactly what you'd expect from a 100 year old lodge.

We camped 5 days at Camp High Sierra (a trailer and two tents). Very nice environment, very well kept facilities, great location and nice hot showers. We hope to make our family gathering at CHS an annual occasion.

Great staff rustic campground that makes you feel remote but just a short trip to everything

Hub and I spent 4 nights here, last week. We were happy to get a great spot without a reservation for all the nights needed. The young man at the office couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. You can purchase firewood at the office. The restrooms and shower house were always exceptionally clean. The showers are included with your stay so no quarters! It was peaceful and nice, no one bothering you. Quiet time is at 10 and everyone adhered to that. It is right next to town, which was convenient and only a couple miles to the lakes and activities. Very clean campground and pleasant experience, not to mention beautiful surroundings.

Avoid this place! They do construction on holiday weekends when guests are still sleeping. They were wearing gas masks spraying paint and chemicals on the buildings while we were unprotected. The wind was strong and blew the paint and chemicals right at us. I have bad allergies and it caused me to have an asthma attack. Totally uncalled for. They have no respect for guests and didn’t stop. You wouldn’t go in someone’s hotel room protected with a gas mask and start spraying the walls with paint while they were sleeping and leave them unprotected would you? We went to the woods to get away from chemicals and get fresh air and Mammouth delivered the biggest nightmare. Avoid! They don’t care about guests.

We stayed 3 nights here with a few other couples, kiddos & pets. There are several clean bathrooms throughout the property & also free, hot showers. Close distance to town. It is a bit challenging to make a reservation since you have to call the mammoth hotline. It was quiet & all other campers were respectful. A lot of kids & a lot of pets. Great first time here!

Camp High Sierra is a beautiful spot, and is well located within Mammoth Lakes. But this campground, more than others, seems to attract mostly inexperienced campers. Expect people to walk through your campsite, have large unattended campfires, leave food and trash laying about, and make noise and commotion during quiet hours. Because the campground is owned and managed by a large corporation (Mammoth Mountain), the employees that work here, although very friendly, have little ability to control or correct problem campers. Any complaints must be channelled through the corporation, where you can expect no response. While this place might be a good fit for some people, there are other options in the area which can provide a quieter, less anxiety-provoking, and more appealing outdoor experience to RVers and campers.

A nice campground. What makes this place stand out is that they have hot showers and clean bathrooms, and also the service. Be aware that the campground handles same-day reservations only in person at the registration office. Unfortunately the day after July 4 the registration office wasn't staffed until later in the day (very much forgivable, though a note *should've* been posted), and so we weren't able to extend our stay by another night as we wanted before leaving for a day hike. However, we're decided to leave our tents set up at our site, and I left them a phone message asking to extend our stay. They graciously called me back after a few hours to let me know they had put a hold on a different site that was available for the night. When we came back, Jason at the registration walked up to our new camp site and told us he had rearranged the sites and moved us back to our original site in their system so we wouldn't have to move our tents. I love this level of care, and we will happily stay here again! Thank you, Jason!

Had an overall great experience. We stayed in the cabin with 6 beds. Right next to the bathroom and short distance to the showers. My toddler enjoyed the office unit full of games and things for her to color! The games definitely needed to be refurbished (so if you want to donate anything, I’m sure they would be grateful). The office staff were polite and helpful. The showers were clean, and had hot water. Firewood was about $7 a bundle you can purchase there.

This place was amazing. This review is actually a bit late. We camped here last month, July. Just an overnight stay. But man, oh man! So many bear sightings! It was pretty epic. The staff was amazing from the start. Joked around with us, made us feel welcomed. They came to our campsite to to discuss Billy the bear. We spotted him breaking into a cooler at a neighboring campsite and alerted staff. But staff was quick to get eyes on the bear, make their presence felt throughout the grounds in order to ensure everyone that this is a known bear and all is well. Good job staff! The grounds were very clean. Bathrooms were as clean as they can be and stocked. Will definitely be booking here again.

Staff is annoying, first campground I’ve been to where you couldn’t listen to music. I knew it said no amplified music but i thought that meant you just couldn’t have it blasting which I can respect anywhere I go. I like to listen to music throughout my day so it was frustrating to have to sit in silence with my friends. Go to mammoth mountain RV Park. Camp High Sierra sucks, only good thing about is location is it’s a little bit closer to the village, but not much. The showers turn off after 8:00 so if you like being told when and when not to shower you’d also like this place. Staff also said our neighbors complained about us and our neighbors said we complained about them so they’re trying to start problems that don’t exist.

This place is fantastic! The people and staff here are so friendly and accommodating. The bathrooms and campsites are clean and well-kept! The campground is close to everything, with excellent hiking trails and biking trails nearby.
