Our stay at Camp Kernville from November 22nd through November 26th was nothing short of outstanding. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the staff takes immense pride in maintaining a clean, welcoming, and family-friendly environment. We rented an RV through the campground, and it exceeded every expectation. The RV was spotless, perfectly positioned with one of the best views in the park, and fully stocked with water and gas throughout our stay—never a single interruption in service. The campsite itself was equally well maintained with absolutely no trash in sight. The accommodations and location were incredible, far surpassing what we anticipated. The restrooms and showers were newly remodeled, consistently maintained, always clean, and the water was warm every time we used them. It was obvious that they are cleaned regularly, which made a huge difference in comfort. The roads within the campground were freshly graded and smooth, making it easy to get around. Before our arrival, the staff made sure our site was fully prepared, including all of our requests—firewood waiting for us and even a custom-made firepit/grill, which was an awesome touch. Throughout our visit the staff remained friendly, accessible, and attentive, ensuring every need was met. We were especially impressed by the world-class hospitality. The team provided excellent recommendations for local dining options (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), as well as tips for fishing spots and the best local attractions. Their suggestions helped us make the absolute most of our trip. After touring all of the nearby campgrounds during our stay, we can confidently say Camp Kernville stands above the rest. It was the only one with a sand beach and the only campground we felt was 100% family-friendly. The combination of cleanliness, safety, and the attentive staff made us extremely happy with our choice. We will definitely be back! Camp Kernville earns our highest recommendation.

Premium price for what is really just a standard campground. They advertise “No WiFi” as a way to encourage family connection, but it feels more like a way to cut down their overhead costs. The small store on site is overpriced — I bought an item for $20 over normal retail. There is only a small section for the lakefront which can get crowded very easily. Make sure you find a spot in the morning. Quiet hours at 10pm are strict, and even normal conversation levels can get complaints from nearby permanent residents (trailer homes). On the positive side, the campsites themselves were decent. There was enough room for kids and adults to play cornhole, card games, and hang out. Each site came with a fire pit, picnic table, and grill, plus full hookups (30 amp, sewer, and water), which was convenient. A major downside: they don’t allow dogs considered “aggressive breeds” (pitbulls, bulldogs, etc.). That policy seems outdated and unfair — I’ve seen plenty of small breeds like dachshunds act more vicious than those listed. It also means extra cost and planning for anyone with those dogs. Overall, the campground is fine I can come here again but it is overpriced for what you get, with rules and policies that make it less family- and pet-friendly than it should be.

My family and I love going to Camp Kernville for the summer and fall seasons. The beach is great for kids to play, longing by the water and for those who live to fish. The best part is not only the campgrounds but the staff is super friendly and always there to help.
