My wife, dog and myself spent 5 nights at Camp Kernville before the holiday weekend and had a wonderful time. We weren’t in one of the sites by the river, but a 2 minute walk from our campsite and you’re on their private beach. Our site had great shade trees, so we never had to run the A/C in the motorhome. Some of the sites had FHU’s,but ours was power and sewer only so we had to run on the water pump and fill the tank a few times since we have a small motorhome. They make it easy though, with hose reels you can move easily. I would like to thank Dallas for helping me with an issue we had on our motorhome the morning we were to check out. Without his assistance, we would have been up a creek. Very well kept campground, super friendly employees and a great place to relax, fish and watch the rafters go by. We will return.

Hands down, my favorite place to visit. My family and I enjoy our trip every time and look forward to the next. Clean campground. Friendly employees. Love it here. Thank you again!

Wonderful…..as it is every time we visit. The grounds are immaculately clean, and the staff members are friendly and welcoming. You can see how much pride is put into providing a memorable experience for all of their guests each and every time they choose to stay at Camp Kernville. I recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect riverside getaway.

Great location! Nice, clean park but very expensive for the off season. The limited staff that we interacted with was friendly but assigned us a 50amp site when we requested a 30amp and then would not let us borrow an adapter but rather gave us options to switch sites (after we were completely setup) or buy an adapter from them. Not a huge deal but for the price paid and the fact that barely anyone was there, it was annoying. I can see why it’s a popular park…again excellent location…but if we return to Kernville we might try a different park.

Our stay at Camp Kernville from November 22nd through November 26th was nothing short of outstanding. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the staff takes immense pride in maintaining a clean, welcoming, and family-friendly environment. We rented an RV through the campground, and it exceeded every expectation. The RV was spotless, perfectly positioned with one of the best views in the park, and fully stocked with water and gas throughout our stay—never a single interruption in service. The campsite itself was equally well maintained with absolutely no trash in sight. The accommodations and location were incredible, far surpassing what we anticipated. The restrooms and showers were newly remodeled, consistently maintained, always clean, and the water was warm every time we used them. It was obvious that they are cleaned regularly, which made a huge difference in comfort. The roads within the campground were freshly graded and smooth, making it easy to get around. Before our arrival, the staff made sure our site was fully prepared, including all of our requests—firewood waiting for us and even a custom-made firepit/grill, which was an awesome touch. Throughout our visit the staff remained friendly, accessible, and attentive, ensuring every need was met. We were especially impressed by the world-class hospitality. The team provided excellent recommendations for local dining options (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), as well as tips for fishing spots and the best local attractions. Their suggestions helped us make the absolute most of our trip. After touring all of the nearby campgrounds during our stay, we can confidently say Camp Kernville stands above the rest. It was the only one with a sand beach and the only campground we felt was 100% family-friendly. The combination of cleanliness, safety, and the attentive staff made us extremely happy with our choice. We will definitely be back! Camp Kernville earns our highest recommendation.

Premium price for what is really just a standard campground. They advertise “No WiFi” as a way to encourage family connection, but it feels more like a way to cut down their overhead costs. The small store on site is overpriced — I bought an item for $20 over normal retail. There is only a small section for the lakefront which can get crowded very easily. Make sure you find a spot in the morning. Quiet hours at 10pm are strict, and even normal conversation levels can get complaints from nearby permanent residents (trailer homes). On the positive side, the campsites themselves were decent. There was enough room for kids and adults to play cornhole, card games, and hang out. Each site came with a fire pit, picnic table, and grill, plus full hookups (30 amp, sewer, and water), which was convenient. A major downside: they don’t allow dogs considered “aggressive breeds” (pitbulls, bulldogs, etc.). That policy seems outdated and unfair — I’ve seen plenty of small breeds like dachshunds act more vicious than those listed. It also means extra cost and planning for anyone with those dogs. Overall, the campground is fine I can come here again but it is overpriced for what you get, with rules and policies that make it less family- and pet-friendly than it should be.

My family and I love going to Camp Kernville for the summer and fall seasons. The beach is great for kids to play, longing by the water and for those who live to fish. The best part is not only the campgrounds but the staff is super friendly and always there to help.

You stayed here over a long weekend. We have been going to the Kern River for several years. This is our first time at Camp Kernville and we were very satisfied. There was plenty of room for our 32 foot motorhome plus a trailer and for our teenagers to have fun. There are large trees and plenty of shade for everyone who wants it. We were just steps away from the river and a sandy beach accessible to the campers. The water right in front of camp Kernville is very calm and safe for everyone. The other campers were mostly families and friendly. The park enforces the quiet time at night and it made for a restful sleep. Registration was a breeze. A particular shout out to Jennifer who was very helpful to us. Thank you so much for the nice stay.

We stayed at this wonderfull RV Park last week. The park is right on the river, clean and in wonderful condition. There is a sandy beach with water access. The park is right near downtown and you can walk to cafe's, bakery, shops and market. Hope to return soon.

We had a wonderful time! Jennifer was extremely helpful letting us know about the places nearby and all the available trails. This was our first time camping and this place has all the facilities one would need for the kids to be able to enjoy. Hot showers, clean bathrooms, and electricity available on site. The campsites are right by the river so you wake up with the sounds of the river flowing. We got to learn some fishing since we had the river there. Everything was clean and Jennifer and Hailey were always available to help. All and all a phenomenal experience!
