This very old park has lake access and has a lot of seasonals. The sites are large full hook up sites on grass. The store in the office is well stocked with all the camping items you forgot or need to replace. They have an indoor pool. The bathhouse is dated but clean and functional. The showers were spacious with good flow. The park is located off the end of the main runway of the Lapena airport. The navy has a guard base there so the F-18’s, in flights of 2, depart and arrive often during the day and are quite low. The town is just a few miles away and easy to access.

Friendly park. Entry road is paved/patched and very rough. Interior roads are all dirt/gravel so dust clouds are constant with all the bike and golf cart activity. Sites are dirt with a very little bit of small pebbles, so very messy. Grass btwn sites. Very low water pressure. No sewer but a dump station is provided with all the features. Doubt we would stay again due to the mess.

Lovely campground with friendly staff and hot showers. Unfortunately there was no WiFi (as advertised), which makes it less than ideal for working remotely. Was also not expecting the loud airplane noise all day long from the county airport nearby, which is also shared with the air national guard base, who were conducting trainings and flybys over the campground. Daytime was miserable with air traffic noise. Evening was quiet and nice. Maybe weekends are different? I was here Mon-Tue. No refund offered for the second night I purchased.

Found it to be quite Beautiful! Lots of amenities, and indoor pool. But most of all, were the staff. Always very helpful and friendly. We rented the Nomad camper. They were always very ready to help when we needed anything. Would highly recommend!! Big lots too 😃

I’m really disappointed in the turn this place has taken. We’ve been camping here every year for the last decade and this is our last. We were harassed and blamed by the owner for losing business. We had been camping for approximately 3 days of a week’s stay when we got new neighbors. Before they had even placed their camper, they were reporting us to the front. They never once attempted to talk to us personally. I feel it was racially motivated. Our music wasn’t loud or inappropriate. Music throughout the campground could be heard everywhere but we were the only ones targeted. Those neighbors left a day early and canceled for next year as well. The owner came back and blamed us for that while also stating he didn’t want to lose our business. Then he came by and lied to us about a big storm coming at noon, it rained lightly for approx 5 mins. I feel that was an attempt to get us to leave. We didn’t leave but it ruined all of our plans for the day and we cancelled renting kayaks on what ended up being the perfect day for them. The hospitality of this campground has changed from previous years. The old staff is still great, however new staff is not as pleasant. We’ve had some great family vacations here over the last decade but we will be vacationing elsewhere in the future. Also, the biting flies are really bad.

I used to love going camping at campers cove, a lot of us used to absolutely love it that are even from that town and we would still go out there just to enjoy ourselves and be on a little mini vacation! Well now I don't live there anymore I live an hour away and I went up there and had my ex-husband\kid's dad go there and pay for the site for me and he ended up talking to the people and everything was cool and we get there and the first thing the man asked me was if I was homeless!? I'm like no I don't even live here, you must be having problems with that though lately? And he said yes that he does not want to allow any of the homeless in Alpena to camp at his campground, then he got rude with me the next day about the site I was camped at because apparently I wasn't supposed to be at that site I was supposed to be at one right across the little road from it and I did not know that! the girl that told me where to go did not give me a lot number she only pointed in the direction of where to go, so he then commences to have an attitude in general I've been told that people have been in arguments with this man etc.. and I don't know who this guy really thinks he is because that campground is not that high tech and he's losing customers cuz there was hardly anybody there when we were there and it was at the end of the summer so it wasn't off season! He was rude about us having a tent, couple tents and told us that there was only one site in that whole campground that is rustic, which is ridiculous so what's he going to do now start turning away tents? How much more judgmental and full of discrimination can you get? The man seems full of hatred he doesn't seem like he should be doing what he's doing! I don't think he's in the right position in his life right now because he is not nice by any means! I kind of felt offended to be asked if I was homeless to be honest! 😔

The owners are very helpful and knowledgeable on campers, when we had an issue with our toilet. Three year in a row and still enjoying it!

What a neat place. Kayak, canoe, pontoon boats, bikes.. it's all available to rent. Volleyball court, mini golf, indoor heated pool. Plenty to stay entertained. We liked the place, but the week we were there, the military were running training exercises so there were constantly loud jets overhead. No fault of the campground, but annoying when trying to relax. Still, we will return!

24' camper fit perfectly at our site...on the water. All hookup worked great. Bonus..they have a mobile waste tank pump and come right to you and exhaust tank on site!!! All places need this! Very nice, quiet, friendly people. Beautiful sunsets overlooking lake.

We came across this charming, peaceful camping park, filled with very friendly people. The grounds are very well kept as well as the extra activities makes this camping villa a delight. Pontoon boats as well as kayaks at very responsible pricing. They have barrels of firewood available, as well as other activities. This camp ground is owned by Mark and Judy Hall. We are from the Columbus, Ohio area. We will definitely be back. One of the nicest camp grounds we have experienced. Thank you Mark and Judy for a lovely stay at your site. Ed and Barbara Haughn OH-IO GO BUCKEYES!!!

We stayed 3 nights here. We are full time RVers and this has been one of the friendliest, cleanest, most to offer campgrounds. They have kayaks, canoes, pontoon boats, fun cycles all to rent at reasonable prices. Or just hang out by the water or at their beach. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Very impressed and will stop again when in the area.

I've been going to campers before Google was a thing. They have a nice setup. Prices are fair and they do everything right. I rent a pontoon every summer. They have put put ,bike rentals, paddle boats, canoes kayaks also. The office has a small store and a game room. They have showers , indoor pool and a sauna. The lake offers good pike and bass fishing. Overall for a family owned place its excellent.
