We've stayed at Camping Au Bord de la mer twice since 2022. The staff are super helpful and speak English. The facilities are clean and the location is amazing. We can't wait to come back next year. I took photos of the birds below that were just offshore. They are Common Eiders and it blew my mind that they nest in the Tundra. I also included the view outside the back of our travel trailer with the sunset over the St. Lawrence River and Cap-Chat in the distance.

Camping feels like you’re in a grassy parking lot with zero privacy. Paid extra for an oceanfront site (highlight) however it should be noted that #43 has little to no view (rose bushes). Beach was spectacular and the stay enjoyed, however I would not recommend or return to this campground. (Note* I do not have local camping comparisons. Perhaps this is standard in Cap-Chat).

Magical site on the St. Lawrence river. Lobster delivered to your campsite. Delicious. Delightful young couple, expecting their first baby, who run the place. Highlight of our Gaspé trip. Not to be missed!

This is probably not the most ideal campground for tent campers. Due to the open layout and ‘ocean views’, it’s extremely difficult to set up a tarp, no poles, no trees. It can easily make things miserable if it rains. I was also surprised to learn that showers cost $1 for 5 minutes — something tent campers should be aware of, as it’s not included unless you have an RV. Might be better suited for RV travelers than tent campers.

Beautiful campground, perfect for catching breathtaking sunsets. Great location, close to all amenities. A big thank you to Ian and his team for their outstanding service. The free fatbike rentals are a fantastic bonus to explore the beach! Pro tip: bring coins for the showers and plan a way to cook onsite, as campfires are not allowed directly on the pitches.
