Camping du Rivage

Overview

Camping du Rivage offers a serene coastal escape along the shores of the St. Lawrence River in the heart of the Gaspésie region. Known for its unobstructed sunset views, the park provides a tranquil setting where travelers can listen to the waves from their doorstep. It serves as an ideal base for those looking to explore the rugged beauty of the Quebec coastline while maintaining access to modern conveniences. The atmosphere is peaceful, making it a favorite for those who value natural scenery over high-energy resort activities.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, the park is perfectly positioned between the sea and the Chic-Choc Mountains. Its location provides immediate access to the rocky shoreline, allowing for beach walks and bird watching. The surrounding area is characterized by the salt air of the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the dramatic elevation of the nearby peaks. This coastal gateway serves as a vital stop for RVers embarking on the iconic tour of the Gaspé Peninsula, offering a balance of maritime and mountain environments.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is designed with modern RVers in mind, offering full hookup sites that include water, sewer, and 30- or 50-amp electricity. Travelers will find well-maintained gravel pads and options for pull-through sites that accommodate larger rigs. Essential facilities such as clean laundry rooms and hot showers are available to ensure comfort during longer stays. High-speed Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the grounds, and the playground provides a space for younger travelers to burn off energy. The park is also pet-friendly, welcoming four-legged companions.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Just a short drive away is the renowned Parc national de la Gaspésie, a haven for hikers looking to spot caribou or reach the summits of Mont Jacques-Cartier. For those interested in marine life, Exploramer offers interactive exhibits and sea excursions in Sainte-Anne-des-Monts. Visitors can also enjoy local seafood at nearby bistros or explore the various boutiques in town. The region is famous for its salmon fishing, and guided trips are often available for enthusiasts looking to experience the local rivers.

What a hidden gem! Small sites, but backing onto the beach! It was beautiful to walk the beach and have our fire on the beach at night. Was a beautified spot to park!

Worst camping experience ever. First, the owner is really unprofessionnal. When we parked, a man arrived, got really close on the driver's door and told us that he was the owner, that we were two pretty girls and that we could forget the Covid because he was single so whoever was down, he was ready. He seemed drunk. I was happy we were still in the car. That behavior is discusting and this should not happen again. Second, the toilets are dirty and smell like pee and mold. The sunset is nice but not worth it. We don't recommend this place at all.
