As a family-friendly destination, it emphasizes a peaceful atmosphere where guests can disconnect from the hustle of daily life and reconnect with the outdoors. Whether you are arriving for a weekend or an extended stay, the park serves as a welcoming gateway to one of the most unique geographical regions in the Maritimes.

Location & Surroundings

The park is situated in the picturesque community of Miscou, accessible via a bridge from Lameque Island. The surroundings are defined by the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and the expansive peat bogs that make the island famous. During the autumn months, these bogs transform into a vibrant crimson, offering a visual spectacle unlike anywhere else in the province. The coastal landscape surrounding the park consists of sandy beaches and dunes, providing a rugged yet beautiful backdrop for your RV adventures.

Amenities & Park Features

Camping la Vague is equipped to handle various camping styles, featuring full hookup RV sites that include water, electricity, and sewer connections. For those who prefer a more traditional experience, wooded tent sites are also available. The park features essential facilities such as clean washrooms, hot showers, and laundry services to ensure a comfortable stay. Children can enjoy the on-site playground, while everyone benefits from the direct beach access, allowing for easy strolls along the shoreline right from your campsite.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

The most iconic nearby landmark is the Miscou Island Lighthouse, one of the oldest wooden lighthouses in the Gulf. Visitors can climb to the top for panoramic views or explore the surrounding interpretive trails. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the diverse birdwatching opportunities and the scenic boardwalks through the peat bogs. For a taste of the local culture, exploring the nearby fishing wharves offers a chance to sample fresh Atlantic seafood or watch the local fleet in action.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal match for nature enthusiasts and those who enjoy a slower pace of travel. It is particularly well-suited for families who want a safe, beach-oriented environment for children to explore. RVers who appreciate scenic coastal drives and off-the-beaten-path locations will find Camping la Vague to be a rewarding destination. If you are looking for a rustic yet well-maintained base to explore the unique ecology and history of the Acadian Peninsula, this park fits the bill perfectly.

Camping la Vague | Miscou, NB | Coastal RV Park

Great location on a beautiful stretch of beach. Warm waters and relaxing pace. The staff were very welcoming, the washrooms are stunning (very modern and clean) and there is also laundry facilities. The campsites were also spacious and spread out.

I went to see my brother there and its a nice camping but compact, really compact!

It's been years since I have visited but I remember it fondly. I went with a Mom friend and her kids without researching at all and both nights I was there I remember being so sad I didn't bring my fishing gear. The playground was cute and there were lots of things to do a short drive away. I'll be back to fish soon. :) 😜

Great little camp ground . Friendly staff. Fishing. Tent sites are a little close but somewhat secluded. Get the showers early because hot water gets low. Buetiful place . Swimming . Clean. Highly recommend and also pet friendly

The most honorable and hospitable people I have met throughout my travels around the world were the owners of this campsite. I am a backpacker and hiker who walks long distances to support children and the underprivileged. On the day I reached Miscou Island after a five-day hike, my toe was infected, and the owners of this campsite welcomed and cared for me with immense kindness and love. In an environment filled with peace and love, surrounded by noble-hearted people, I realized that I am not alone in this difficult journey of helping others. This wonderful couple, like the hands of the Creator of this world, helped me. I wish you all the best

This place is fantastic. Very Clean, and very inviting.
The owners "Johnny D & Dianne were absolutely terrific. I would high recommend this place for all..., young families to retirees. See you next year Miscou Island!!
