<p> We are located on Colorado Highway 133, only six miles from the sophisticated town of Carbondale and its fine restaurants, 19 miles from the many activities of Glenwood Springs and 35 miles from the world-famous resort town of Aspen.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>
<p>This is a place so beautiful that you won't want to leave, and you'll find so many nearby attractions and activities that you'll want to make time for them all. From your cabin, RV&nbsp;or tent site, you will enjoy spectacular views of 12,965-foot Mount Sopris and a half mile of frontage along the truly beautiful Crystal River, where you can stroll along the banks and watch for birds and cast a line for trout.You can access the paved walking/biking Crystal Valley Trail right at the campground entrance and follow it to the Rio Grande Trail that runs from Glenwood Springs to Aspen. Hiking, hunting, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, jeep tours, golf, and fly-fishing are favorite activities.</p>

Carbondale / Crystal River KOA Holiday, Carbondale, CO

Staff was amazing! Campgrounds were the same. Stayed in tent site TB and had a beautiful view of the mountain along with Crystal River. We hated to leave. Most definitely will come back and recommend to friends.

We absolutely loved our stay at the KOA in Carbondale! We rented one of the cabins right on the river, and honestly, this place felt like a dream. Everything was so clean, cozy, and beautifully maintained. The cabin was comfortable, peaceful, and had the perfect mix of camping and convenience. Falling asleep to the sound of the river and waking up to the mountain views was incredible.
The entire property was stunning, and you can tell so much care goes into keeping everything nice for guests. We loved every second of our stay and truly did not want to leave. This was one of those places that instantly makes you start planning your next trip back before you even leave. Thank you for such a wonderful stay — we will absolutely be back soon!

We had a peaceful stay at the Carbondale KOA Holiday. Great location by the river and very quiet. The RV park was clean and the dog park was a big plus. We would definitely stay again.

Hangs down my favorite staycation if you you want 2 beds and river front cabin 7,8,9,10 all good. No smoking. Leash dog friendly. Such a nice place to write, paint, or be creative.

We picked this KOA because it was just outside Aspen and this KOA did not disappoint.
The buildings, bathrooms, cabins, and walkways were very well maintained. The cabin was clean inside, comfortable to sleep in, and no pests were evident. The bathrooms were very clean and were comfortable. The grounds were maintained and made walking around enjoyable. The camp store was friendly and offered many essentials.
The KOA was sat on the Crystal River. The river was accessible and you can easily go for a swim. The river was about a foot deep at the time too. The town of Glenwood springs was nearby and you can get food and other things from there. Aspen was about an hour near as well. Visiting aspen and Glenwood were the perfect day trip ideas. Carbondale did have dinner options and that we had ordered in as well.
Overall, I would stay in this KOA again. The price was decent, views incredible, the stay was relaxing, and it made the perfect home base.

Small tent riverside site - Site TF. Stayed for a few nights in late September.

Check-in was very smooth and the campground overall was beautiful and well maintained. The showers were exceptionally clean, and we really appreciated the thoughtful amenities like the outdoor dishwashing sink near the bathrooms. Trash cans were conveniently placed and never overfilled, and the surrounding scenery - the river, trees, and fall colors - made for a gorgeous stay.

Our only complaint was with Site TF itself. There was a noticeable mound or small hill in the middle of the campsite, which made it tricky to set up our tents and caused the fire pit to sit at an awkward angle. The ground was also quite rocky and not very level. We did, however, appreciate that the site felt a bit more private and tucked away from the rest of the campground - the seclusion was definitely a nice bonus.

Aside from that, everything else about the campground was fantas We'd definitely stay again, just at a different site next time.

Nice tent spots next to the river, sites are a bit smaller than in most accompanying BLM campgrounds. Very kind and welcoming hosts, common space is available until 7PM. Fresh coffee in the morning. Clean showers and toilets.

My family of six spent three nights here and I cannot recommend it enough. The teepee was so comfortable - equipped with a queen bed, 2 twin mattresses and a double bed sized futon, 2 box fans and a power strip. It's conveniently located near the very clean bathroom facilities. There was road noise but that didn't bother us too much - we'd definitely stay there again. We used the KOA as a home base - and visited Marble and the Penny Hot Springs, Aspen and the Maroon Bells. It was perfect for us. The camp host was so helpful. Highly recommend!!

This is a is the perfect spot. Next time the river such a cozy well maintained location. Close to penny hot springs. The host was super nice and a huge shout out to Cody for the ice cream recommendation at the redstone general store. Huckleberry ice cream, the river, Mt. Sopris. Thanks for the memories.

Our stay was absolutely incredible! The cabin exceeded every expectation—it was cozy, well-appointed, and exactly what we were hoping for.  The bed was unbelievably comfortable, and having the river just steps from our door made the whole experience feel like a peaceful escape.  The staff were warm and welcoming, and the facilities were spotless and well-maintained. I would highly recommend this KOA to anyone looking for a relaxing, nature-filled getaway. A 10/10 experience—we'll definitely be back!

Although   we  did  not  stay  here  we  took  a  few  minutes  to  view and  inspect  this  KOA.  This  is  one  of  two  KOA's  in  the  Glenwood  Springs  Area. However,  this  is  the  only  one  that  accepts  tents.  This  is  clearly  one  of  the  older  KOAs.  Everything  looked  right  and  properly  maintained.  With  the  older  locations  the  sites  are  much  closer  together  and  privacy  should  not  be  expected.  In  addition,  this  KOA  is  squeezed  in  between  the  river  and  the  highway.  so  we  are  guessing  there  is  significant road noise,  Despite  this  they  were  almost  completely  full  so  they  are  doing  things  right.  We  visited  September 15th, 2021.

This is a very nice KOA located off of Hwy 133 at the base of Mt. Sopris giving spectacular views of the mountain here in Carbondale, Colorado. The colors of fall adds to beauty of Carbondale and the cool temperatures prepares you for winter. This campground provides you necessities for RV living, though it it not a complete hookup with no dumping for your RV. You will have to dump at the dump site when you are full or before you leave. Other then that, great place, great location, and great customer service.

Is a small, very clean and tidy campground. The sites are somewhat small and a tad cramp together, but adequate. We had a site along the Crystal River which was nice. The bathroom and shower facilities are very clean and modern but are small. On a previous trip, I had to wait for shower stalls. The KOA is close to the highway and at times Highway noise was a bit of an issue but nothing extreme. The staff here was very friendly. Would stay here again if in the area.

Staff is amazing, super nice and helpful! Great experience overall
