Carolina Rose Campground

Overview

Carolina Rose Campground is a family-owned destination that offers a peaceful retreat for those looking to explore the Piedmont region of North Carolina. Nestled in a lush, wooded setting, it provides a quiet atmosphere that contrasts with the bustling nearby highways. The park is characterized by its shaded sites and personalized service, making it a reliable base for travelers passing through the Salisbury area or those seeking a peaceful long-term stay in the woods. Unlike massive resorts, this park emphasizes a slower pace of life and natural beauty.

Location & Surroundings

Located just off Interstate 85, the park provides easy access for cross-state travelers while maintaining a serene environment away from heavy traffic noise. The surrounding landscape features mature trees and rolling hills typical of the North Carolina interior. Its strategic position makes it a convenient middle ground between the metropolitan energy of Charlotte and the historic charm of Winston-Salem. This allows guests to enjoy a rural, secluded feel without sacrificing accessibility to major city centers and regional supply hubs.

Amenities & Park Features

The facility focuses on essential comforts for modern RVers, featuring level pads and generous spacing between neighbors. The park offers several specific conveniences to ensure a smooth stay:

  • Full hookup sites including water, sewer, and both 30 and 50-amp electricity.
  • Clean bathhouse and on-site laundry facilities for guest convenience.
  • A pet-friendly policy that welcomes your four-legged travelers to the grounds.

Gravel pads and wide access roads accommodate various rig sizes, while functional Wi-Fi helps guests stay connected with friends and family during their travels.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

History enthusiasts will appreciate the proximity to the North Carolina Transportation Museum in nearby Spencer, which showcases the region's rich rail heritage. Nature lovers can spend the day at Dan Nicholas Park, which offers lake activities, a petting zoo, and walking trails just a short drive away. For those interested in local culture, downtown Salisbury provides a wealth of historic architecture, local boutiques, and craft breweries that highlight the area's genuine Southern hospitality and deep colonial roots.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is ideal for long-term stays and travelers who prefer a quiet, no-frills environment over a busy resort atmosphere. It is particularly well-suited for retirees, travel nurses, and working professionals who need a dependable and calm home base near major transit routes. Because of its central location, it also serves as an excellent overnight stopover for those navigating the I-85 corridor who value a wooded, natural setting for their nightly rest rather than a standard parking lot.

My husband just took our 5th wheel camper to Cobble Hill campground for our son Noah Allen to live in for a while #26 site is what he was given. Very little space in between to do much of anything with a picnic table with one seat and the other side where another seat should be are huge nails sticking up through the wood!! Noah works in Charlotte and his hours usually 12noon til 9pm. Takes over hour to get home at night. Pitch dark out there at his #26 camp site. So I told him to leave outside lights on until he was back his camper and inside safely and then he could turn off. Well Noah told me he had a c/o because lights were on and they were too bright!!! You never know what or is beside you or behind you in a Campground And it’s so dark you can’t see to walk from one place to another. He needs lights. Noah closes blinds at night, others should do the same!! My husband also said the site he was given was so steep he could not get the camper level!!! When a better and more private site becomes available I would appreciate you moving Noah to that site! This is really outrageous the false advertising you have online of this wonderful clean campground with all these amenities but there’s not much truth there is it? This is the most unkept campground I’ve ever seen and heard of!! Clean it up!! We will be looking for a better place for our young man! You need lights in a campground!!!! I left message for you to call me but no response. Shelia and Stephen Allen for Noah Allen #26 camp site.

We had a disappointing 1-night stay in late September. Staff cordially welcomed us with the usual info and directed us to site 4. We found the gravel site was far from level in 2 directions. One empty site next to us had an abandoned small refrigerator and old sewer hose. The bath house and laundry across the lane was not functional and the one working bath house was at the far end of the park. While we did not tour the loop beyond the pond, many of the sites we did see seemed to be occupied by long-term or year-round residents, suggesting Cobble Hill is somewhat an RV version of a mobile-home park. After 5:30 or so, we saw a lot of homecoming traffic, and soon the WIFI, which was slow to start with, ground to a halt, unusable. In all, it was quiet at night, affordable and conveniently situated off Rt. 601, but we would likely look elsewhere for other options when travelling through the area.

Not very well kept. A nice courtesy would have been to blow off all the dead leaves and cleaned out the fire pit before our arrival. My husband had to do it to see where he needed to park the camper. Our view of the pond was nice but the view of the old not maintained campers was disgusting. I get you want long term renters. But make them clean up their site. Makes the whole campground look like trash. Too bad. The pool area is run down and green water. Your pictures have totally falsely advertised. Very disappointing. Too bad because it could so much better.

Its Memorial Day weekend and they have a water slide for the kids. Kids are absolutely having a great time! Thank you Kristy and George you guys rock!!! We've been living here since October and we love it. When we first moved in we had a problem with our electric and Kristy and George came right out and fixed it. They are very hard workers and they love their job here and treat everyone very well. We absolutely enjoy living here and the kids are so happy. The kids loved the Easter brunch and Easter egg hunt Kristy and George put together for everyone.

My husband and I absolutely loved our visit here! The atmosphere was super cozy quiet and welcoming — it was such a peaceful little getaway. Lots of space on the property. The lake at night with the lights reflecting on the water was absolutely beautiful. The staff were so kind and helpful which made the stay even better. Such a wonderful experience, we will definitely be coming back!
