It was beautiful but showing up on a thursday late afternoon all the camping sutes were filled in the fron by rvs. And the further you go up, the rockier it is. Unless you have a lifted truck, I would not recommend going up further up the hill. Our suv got stuck on some rocks, and we had to turn around

The upper loop was rugged and definitely required a vehicle with clearance but had available spots even on a Saturday afternoon.
