Hiking trails are well maintained and clearly marked, facilities are very clean, and staff is very friendly and helpful. Tent sites in Sector K are more spacious on the outer edges and very quiet after labour day.

A beautiful place to come and not far from Montreal. Fairly newly renovated bathrooms and shower. Very clean. The beach is huge and the views breathtaking. Lots of walking and bicycle paths. Slides, a climbing wall and big bouncer makes it a fantastic place for kids.

We had a wonderful camping experience at Centre Touristique du Lac Simon. The facilities were very clean and well maintained, which made our stay comfortable. Having access to showers was a big plus. The campsite felt very safe, giving us peace of mind. The beach was fantastic – spacious, clean, and perfect for families. Our kids especially loved the slide and the trampoline, which kept them entertained. Overall, it’s a great place for a family getaway, and we would happily return!

Pros: The beach is beautiful. The water is crystal clear, and the shoreline is wide and spacious. There are plenty of picnic tables with lots of natural shade, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy warm days. The sanitary facilities are clean and well maintained. Cons: The campground feels quite crowded. Many campsites are very close together, with little to no vegetation separating them, which can make privacy and quiet a challenge. Your experience may largely depend on your neighbors, especially if you’re hoping for a peaceful stay. On the positive side, there’s a patrol that actively enforces curfew rules (no music after 10 p.m., no noise after 11 p.m.), which helps somewhat. However, if you're hoping for quiet evening, particularly for young children that way want to go to bed earlier, it may come down to luck.

Lac Simon was absolutely beautiful! The beach was spectacular, with clean and clear water. It was the best part of the trip. If you have young kids, there are many activities to keep them happily occupied. That’s the positive. The negative: at 10:30pm, a staff member approached to inform us of an 11pm “curfew”, where no talking or walking around is permitted… This prison sentence is enforced by staff, walking around all night to be sure no one is “breaking the law”. The next day at 11:59am, an elderly woman in a buggy drove up to me as I was packing my car and asked sweetly if I needed more time… I said that ten minutes would be appreciated. Her face and tone changed, and she threatened to call security if I didn’t leave immediately, as “it was now noon”. Furthermore, she followed my son into the men’s bathroom and threatened to charge him because we left a piece of cardboard in the recycling bin in the room (‘ready to camp’ site). The staff at Lac Simon are elderly wardens. The energy at this place isn’t friendly or welcoming, but rather it feels like confinement. How unfortunate. Sites are also very small, and very close to each other, offering zero privacy. To anyone who chooses to stay here, there is a place across the street from the entrance that sells wood at excellent prices by a couple! There is a small red neon sign, and it is in a cul de sac. The store across from it sells wood for triple the cost and a fraction of the wood. Happy camping!

Great place for family camping! The beach has a great playground for kids with giant slides and a trampoline. The smaller beach that is accessible from the camping is great for kids as the water is very shallow. Toilets are generally clean and the showers are free, the water temperature in the shower is quite high, which is not ideal for young kids but they get through it.

The beach was absolutely beautiful—I really want to go back to the campsite beside it. The water was crystal clear, warm, and gentle, making it a perfect spot to relax. I loved our time there; we stayed in our camper and had a wonderful experience. Although the ground gets a bit muddy after rain, the beach more than makes up for it. I’d love to return to Lac Simon again.

We always enjoy visiting Lac Simon for a summer day trip! The lake is HUGE and the scenery beautiful. It's an amazing place to bring the kids; they have a large bouncy pillow, slides, play structures, rock climbing wall and canoe/kayak rentals! You definitely won't get bored and you MAY just enjoy something cold from their ice cream shop! 🍦 It's a nice easy drive from Ottawa at only a little over 90 minutes away. I hope you enjoy your visit! ⛱️😎

Beautiful and looooong 2km beach. Clean water, lots of space for picnic and BBQ. You can rent a chalet or go for the day. The only thing missing were the palm trees hahahaha.
