I really really really wanted to rank it higher but I cant. It should be a 3 but its in such a prime location and the launch is decent. The sites are limited and most arent on the water. If you have a camper or RV its great. But if you are tent camping there are better options in the area. The ground is mostly rock and super hard to pitch a tent properly. You can tie off to trees but that puts you on uneven ground. Its a lot less pine and birch for my liking in the area too but that's just nit picking. The volt toilets are well maintained and clean. Over all worth staying at but its not what I would call the perfect campground. Its stuck somewhere between rustic and modern.

The section of the campground to your left when you enter offers slightly more rustic sites well suited for tent campers. The remainder of the sites (past the beach) are much more developed and lack the spacing and privacy that you'd find at most other campgrounds on this national forest.

We stayed here in august. What we loved was the electric hookups, fishing, clean bathrooms, firewood on site, and fresh safe water. We didn't use the covered pavilion but it was nice, also they had a family camping site. We got Verizon in different areas but mostly on the fishing dock. Definitely will go back to enjoy again.

Very well maintained campground, really enjoyed the visit, the only drawback to plan for is the distance to the nearest septic dump site.
