The camp has been closed and gate locked. There is a very small area to park outside and then go run/walk the roads through the campground. An access point perfect for paddleboarding/kayaking and fishing but not much else!! I like this spot because of the peace and quiet there and the ability to spend some quality alone time with Jesus and nobody else ✝️

Beautiful Park! Swimming area is a little rocky and steep in some areas but still accessible. Gorgeous views. Right next to a beautiful little campground. Our new favorite spot!

Cool place. Great place to pull your boat up and let kids play in the shallow water. You can also meet people who are already camping here. Word to the wise: Don't wear white. The clay mud is hard to wash out. Do wear pool shoes. Rocks are rough.

Beautiful clean clear water. The camping appears to be mostly tents, a few small campers too. Very quiet area part of the Cherokee National Forrest. Several boat launches and a marina in area. This area does allow swimming. It’s not a sandy beach, but grass is available for relaxing and listening to the waves lap. Some grills and picnic tables. Worth the visit.

Stayed multiple times here and would stay again and again! The owner is fantastic, very nice, and is always excited to chat, show off his Norton’s, or that set of tires that reverse crowned so bad, the center is a peak and the sides are nearly bald. Large bathrooms and a large fire pit though you’ll have to grab firewood in town. If you ever think of staying, do it. Bikes are very welcome, and if you’re riding the snake, you won’t be more then a couple minutes from the shady valley store!

Got what you need for a good night on the trail or a weekend away. Owner very nice and helpful.

A beautiful campground just south of Damascus. Great for tent camping, though there is a shower house with power outlets and a washing machines. There's a few cabins to rent as well. One thing to note, the campground is in a dry county, so come prepared. Can't wait to come back!

Had a great night of sleep in one of the cabins! The owner brought me to and from the trail, and even brought some of the other hikers to town so they could get dinner and resupply.

Cool spot to go swimming or picnicking. Appears to be a nice spot to camp but we only day visited so I can speak on that. We visited in the middle of week so there were only campers and no one in the swimming area. I can imagine it probably gets crowded more on weekends but for 2 bucks day use this is a good deal. Also there is a range (free with day 2 dollar day use fee) right down the road but unfortunately I did not get to use it. South Holston Lake is beautiful and I would love to come back and camp here.
