Had a wonderful time at the state park. Wish we had more days to explore all the trails. Really close to Auburn so you can still go out to eat at one of the many restaurants and yet secluded enough for you to find peace from the hustle and bustle.

Chewacla State Park in Auburn, Alabama, is a scenic getaway offering hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and camping. The 26-acre lake is great for swimming and kayaking, and the waterfalls add natural beauty to the trails. It’s clean, family-friendly, and ideal for both day trips and weekend camping. The trails range from easy to challenging, especially popular with bikers. A peaceful escape with well-maintained facilities.

Very nice staff! Lots of yellow jackets all.over the campground. They were swarming all over our sites during the day. The staff has been working on locating their nests throughout the park, but there are a lot of them right now. The bathrooms could be cleaner. There are many trails through the park and a small lake. The spots are private with many trees.

So beautiful, came out when it hasn't rained a bit, first week of cool weather. Beautiful hiking trails. They're currently working on a structure by the waterfall trail, but you can enjoy a longer hike and still get to the falls. We liked down from the falls through the rocks and had a blast. Epic playground.

We stopped here to picnic on our way to Helen,GA. The bathrooms were immaculate, the lake beautiful and the picnic area clean and welll kept. We are not hikers (3 old ladies), so have no comment on trails. We were disappointed that the road was closed to get all the way around the lake, but the drive we did do was lovely through the woods and over an old bridge. A delightful couple hours respite.

Great place to come with your family for some great trails and sights. There are cabins and campgrounds available. We did not spend the night here, but we intended to sometime. It costs $4/person, but you can spend the day there enjoying this park. My wife and I look forward to coming back here again.

I've been coming here for years and every visit was fun and enjoyable. The employees are always sweet and welcoming! The space is always clean and full of life! Amazing bodies of water and wildlife including with infinite activities such as swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, biking, or laying under the sun. I definitely recommend Chewacla to anybody who is new in the area or wanting to get away.

My family and I have been going here the last few weeks. We enjoy going to take different hiking trails. The waterfall is beautiful. The trails are fun. They have glamping, cabins, RV hook ups, and places to put up a tent, but we have never rented a place. The staff are always very kind. They have a playground that looks brand new and the kids love it. They are currently doing some construction inside, so we look forward to see the finish product of it.

Chewacla State Park offers a tranquil escape from the everyday, whether you're planning a short visit or a longer stay. They provide comfortable, modern campsites and several rental cabins at reasonable rates. While there's a small entrance fee per person, the park's serene atmosphere makes it well worthwhile. The park features extensive hiking and biking trails surrounding a large lake (26 acres), and fishing is permitted. Bring your kayak or canoe! There's also a skateboard park, numerous picnic areas with grills and pavilions, and a recently constructed playground. We particularly enjoy the beach area for swimming and high diving, which also offers convenient restrooms and changing facilities. My family and I have been coming to the park for decades and we've never been disappointed. Just a casual hike down the nature trails, discovering waterfalls and eagles' nests, is revitalizing.

Love this park!! Good walking trails, leashed dogs allowed. Great for biking, too! I came recently and released a groundhog here that I found at my house (called and got permission first)

This park is great and has a ton of trails to explore. The lake is beautiful. I would be a little cautious with the map they give you. There are many trails that are not on the map and you will get a little confused. The trails are well cared for and offer a wonderful view of the creeks. There are plenty of places to hide from the general traffic. Most people hang out at the main waterfall, but there are many other places to go that offer a little peace and serenity. The multi-use trails can be a little intimidating when several bicyclists are coming your way. I pick up a lot of trash on the trails as well. Many people have no shame and throw their garbage on the trails or by the main waterfall. Overall, it is a great place for a decent hike. It has a lot of trails that have a significant amount of incline to get your heart rate up.

I visited the park with hiking in mind. I was impressed with the number of trails and the overall distance offered. There was a primary waterfall that was man-made, but my preference was on Hidden Falls that took a little bit more distance to get to, but definitely more natural and inviting. I visited during the winter time and could imagine what a great Blue Hole this would be in the summertime at Hidden falls. Gave 4 stars instead of 5 because of the aging roads, closed bathrooms, and other facility closures.
