Beautifully kept Campground. Spectacular views. Many choices for things to do. The owners even had an ice cream social on Saturday with locally made ice cream.

We had an absolute best 5 days at Chewonki. The site we had was placed right with a perfect view of the water, a breeze and shade. We have a popup so didn't need an AC. It was so peaceful and all the people, both staff and campers were so friendly. Bath house was always clean (not a lot of places get that rating from me). Showers were hot, pool was awesome. I can't think of any negatives. We WILL be back to this campground. 1 hour or so from Boothbay, Popham and a grandchild. Who could ask for more.

Great camping near downtown Wiscasset. Pretty views & friendly staff. They also have tennis/pickleball court & swimming pool. We didn’t use either. All sites have a picnic table and fire pit too. No internet or cable which makes work a bit difficult, however cell reception is solid (AT&T) No problem getting to/from with a large Class A + Tow vehicle. All RV sites are gravel pad which I don’t mind. Full hookups 30/50 amp. Water pressure is on the lower side. Filled the tank and used onboard pump instead. Could use some more shade trees at the larger sites but very roomy. You’re in a field baking in the sun. Most of the treed sites are for smaller campers or tent site w/o hookups. Also a dock you could launch a canoe or kayak from as well as fish.

Our bicycling group had a great stay at Chewonki. We had a long, hilly, windy ride and were so tired when we got to camp. Pam and Ann greeted us, showed us arround, helped us out in many ways to recover and get ready for the next day. Thank you so much for a great stay.

I've stayed at a lot of campsites overnight yousually in the off-season you get a small discount here was very Costly more than double what I usually spend extra fees for a lot of stuff always felt like I was being watched Was definitely clean and nice but for the rules they should have just handed you a book not a piece of paper many rules to follow If I wanted a camp for the week I wouldn't do it here I don't think with the rules I would have made it a full week when you go camping you go to enjoy yourself not to be ruled

I had friends come into town from New York and I recommended their camp ground.NEVER AGAIN. They have so many hidden fees it was ridiculous. They charge you to take a shower on top of the camping fees.. And we had to pay $20 just to come visit them at their campsite. Not using any amenities at all. Due to the fact we live just down the street. Basically we had to pay to park our car. As a local from Wiscasset I am offended by there up charges and hidden fees. Not to mention that they are over priced when you can go 5 miles away to other campsites which have better facilities with no hidden charges and more to do within a couple of miles. I.E. attractions, shopping, ice cream shops, restaurants. Etc. WORSE RECOMMENDATION OF LIFE I HAVE GIVEN AND AM TRULY EMBARRASSED BY IT. NEVER CAMP AT THIS SITE.

What a wonderful slice of heaven! The location was perfect for our family. Large salt water pool, quiet grounds in a picturesque setting. The family that owns the grounds are hard- working, honest and kind. This is the property that their home is also on- so the generosity they have demonstrated by their willingness to open it up for public enjoyment is not lost on me! They live on this property, but they do not make you feel like you're under their watchful eye. They have mastered being attentive yet not meddlesome. They have clear expectations, and yet they are not overbearing or rude in the conveyance of them. Yes, it isn't the least expensive, but you know the ol' adage "you get what you pay for"

Our family has been coming here for over two decades almost every year. It is a wonderful, quiet, scenic, family friendly campground that I highly recommend. Pam and Ann are wonderful and the pool and bathroom facilities are always very clean. This year was a bit different with the loss of so many of their beautiful tree's but it was still just as enjoyable of a stay and our family was happy to be back for another year camping at Chewonki!

I spent two weeks of my youth there (Chewonki Foundation in 1988) for a workcamp among young adults coming from Europe and USA as we helped the local professionnal staff...Great memories of that magnificent place; I almost drowned in the Back River (was my fault), but my sun glasses surely did. I am56 now, but if going back someday to the US, I'll drop by Wiscasset...No doubt!

Beautiful view. No trees grass is well maintained. very very near an airport. Bath were clean. Showers are .25c for 10 min. Bring quarters. You have to take your dogs with you when you go out of the campground. We were not able to enjoy going out to dinner or boat tours, shopping, since dogs are not allowed.

By far one of the nicest campgrounds in New England.

What a gem! The entire campground is mowed grass and nice woods. The river is picturesque and very good for flat water kayaking. They rent boats or bring your own. Family owned and very friendly. Our "neighbors" have been coming here for 52 years!

Beautiful campground and lovely women running it too. They have a clay tennis court salt water pool too! Too bad they will have to take down many beautiful old trees dictated by the local airport. They are investing in landscaping to help maintain the atmosphere.
