The Goldpanner was decent and clean overall. One star is because I left some headphones here accidentally. Someone from the place contacted me afterwards and wanted to know where they could mail/return them to me. Sounds good? Not exactly. A couple months later I phoned them to check the status, but I believe they were closed for the season. I can check the whereabouts of the headphones on Apple's "Find My" app. Lo and behold they're walking around down there off of the Tok Cutoff Highway, and have been for the past year. Might be a clean place to stay, but they apparently hire/staff the place with untrustworthy people. Hard no from me.

⭐️⭐️ 2 out of 5 stars Stayed at the Gold Panner RV Campground in Chicken, Alaska. It was $45 with electricity, $35 without — but no water or sewer hookups. There is a dump station, but due to the poor angle, we couldn’t dump anything, which was frustrating. Electricity is only 110V — no 30 or 50 amp. Freshwater is available, but at a separate location. Overall, not worth the cost. Especially when there’s free camping available by Chicken Creek Café that’s less crowded. This place was a miss for us — I wouldn’t stay here again.

A must stop if you're traveling thru this part of Alaska. I camped here twice in my RV during Chickenstock, and it was an absolute blast. We stayed here again when we made the drive to Dawson for the famous sourtoe cocktail. There are no bad places in Chicken. Absolutely a gem of a stop. Make sure to take a photo with the giant metal chicken statue!

This is a small cafe/gift shop combined in Chicken, Alaska. We stopped here for our lunch... The group had their lunch ordered in advance. I was looking for a vegetarian option. The ladies were very accommodating and made me an excellent cheese sandwich with onion & peppers. The room where we had lunch was very clean.

Good place to stop for lunch on our way down the road. There was something for everyone. The kids loved looking at writings on the walls of visitors from all over the world. We had a relaxing and filling lunch and hopped back on the highway.

Didn't stay here. Just passed through, very knowledgeable people, very help, very friendly. Surprisingly good coffee, Chicken was definitely a nice little highlight of the trip, the Contrast between this pleasant visit and the horrendous Wendy's visit we had later in the day was immense. Chicken was definitely a highlight, 100% worth stopping in.

Fun place to explore. Enjoyed getting to see Ann Hobbs old school house. "Tisha" has been my favorite book since I was in 8th Grade. Lots of choices in the gift shops. Had a drink in the Chicken Creek Saloon. Very interesting decor in there. Ate an amazing cheeseburger at the cafe in Chicken Creek. Very friendly staff everywhere we went.

Neat store but the people seemed to equate customers with intruders.....not friendly. We were impressed with the old crane and other things around there. We filled with gas then headed for Dawson City. We could see the buildings where Tisha was but they didn’t let us go over there. This was in 2014.

Our first stop in Alaska, after the adventurous run on the Top of the World Highway from Dawson, YT, Chicken was delightful. Accommodations for the RV were great, the people were inviting and fun. What a great stop and our first introduction to the marvelous 49th state. Thanks to all (especially to the new "Tisha")!!

Good stopover for RV camping. Simple camp sites with electricity and building with showers/bathrooms

The RV park is further back from the main road. Also home to the Chicken Stock stage. I have yet to attend the music festival. Again there is ice cream here too. People come from Eagle just for ice cream here in Chicken. Visit all three of Chicken's business areas. Be sure to also visit the post office for Chicken. It is on the hill and has a nice view of the valley. A good place to eat a picnic and see the old mining equipment on display or mail your post cards.
