Beautiful campground, we really loved our site! Quiet for being so big. We enjoyed our stay, the lake being a short walk away was a huge plus. It’s gorgeous! We will come back if we pull our camper up here again. The only reason I can’t give it a 5 is for the bathrooms. As mentioned, they are filthy. We don’t have a toilet in our camper, so we fully rely on the facilities campgrounds provide. I’m not sure these ones have seen any sort of cleaning product in a long while. I know, we are camping and a little roughing it is good for the soul and all, but I advise you to triple check your shower shoes are packed if you plan on using their showers. However, being as dirty as they were, I got a nice hot shower! Can’t complain too terribly much about a hot, free shower. Just be aware!

The area is beautiful and camp sites are very nice. They seem to have two sites close together and then generous space. So, bring a friend or be ready to make a friend next door. The bathrooms are generally clean, but the main reason I couldn't give five stars. The floor needs painting and whoever painted the walls really didn't care at all about what they were doing. (See photos) I would go back. The shore is sandy and shallow for a long ways out. However, it is prone to swimmers itch in warmer months. I came here water skiing when I was younger several times and I never remember having any issues, but they have warnings posted. The water doesn't seem to get to rough for a bigger lake. Good for water sports and paddling.

This was our second stay at this National Forest campground, though our first time leaving a review. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. The Chippewa Loop at Norway Beach offers quiet, secluded sites with easy access to Cass Lake—perfect for paddling, fishing, or simply soaking in the natural beauty. The peaceful atmosphere and wooded setting are hard to beat. That said, the shower house could use some serious attention. While functional, the cinder-block structure is dated, and the hot water tends to run out quickly—resulting in some bracingly cold showers. A few simple, low-cost improvements like solar water heaters, radiant heat, or better insulation could make a big difference in comfort. Despite that, the serenity and lake access keep this campground high on our list. With a few facility upgrades, it has the potential to be a true 5-star destination.

The entire Norway Beach Recreation Area is closed. Its paet of the Chippewa National Forest. Please remember, how you vote matters. Thank you, Mr. Donald Trump for shutting down our National Forest service employees. Logs down across roads and grass not mowed. Picnic tables tipped over. Gates closing off all the roads to the campground loops and the visitor information area has not opened since fall of 2024.

We have been coming here as a family off and on for 20ish years. We stayed in the 100's electric loop. We definitely felt intimidated and uneasy with what the lower loop of 112-124 looked like. Some territorial things going on down at the beach. Seems as if some of these first come first served campsites down by the water may be occupied longer than the 14 days. Still a very beautiful campground, but order seems to be lost.

A week ago we camped with friends for a couple of days. Very disappointed in the maintenance and non upkeep in the park. We camped for many years in Chippewa Loop and loved the campgrounds. We had a 5 year break and it is noticeably run down. No hot water, shower house very dirty. The park is so beautiful and needs to continue to keep up the basics to draw visitors and campers!

This a nice wooded campground on the shore of Cass Lake. It is well suited trailers and pop ups. Poison Ivy grows unchecked in the undergrowth and in campsites. The boat launch provides quick and easy access to Cass Lake and public access on other nearby lakes. The gender specific bathrooms and showers are stocked regularly but seldom cleaned. No fish cleaning facility is provided. Cass Lake is a few miles away and a source for your camping and fishing needs.

No reviews in over two years, that's strange. Priced right, easy to find, no bugs. 30A site worked great. I stayed at site 100. Sites are close together, no privacy. Independence Day weekend 2021, the Chippewa Loop shower / bathroom facility was out of order. Needed to drive to other loops for bathroom / showers. There is no dump station, no water fill at the Norway Beach Recreation area despite of what other reviews / information says, so that sucked. Entire location looks like it is 10+ years behind in maintenance and updates.

Cass lake Minnesota is a excellent city to shop and gamble not to mention the great fishing and hunting with all the resorts around shouldn't take long to get lost in your activities

Rolled in here mid-June and got a camp site easily right on the water. Site has clean showers and bathrooms. Gorgeous spot. Such an unexpected gem. Highly recommend!
