Such an underrated park! Beautiful, quiet, and the best part not many people!!! Definitely recommend the view from Sugar Loaf and then doing the canyon loop for alternative perspectives. While the park is small and not busy, the parking lots are also very very small. Highly recommend getting to the loop parking lot before 8:30am on a weekend if you want parking. There are not many spaces. We didn’t have any issues parking at SugarLoaf. Seriously such a great park! We loved it!

Beautiful rock formations. Very informative visitor center with friendly hosts. Entrance is free. It is about a 6 mile drive through the park. One way in, same way back out. Places to stop and walk with great views. Less than 4 hrs from Phoenix. Spend the night in Wilcox. Quite a few wineries and nice restaurants around.

For most of us, this would be a once in a lifetime experience, not to be missed. Both short and long hikes are at 5800 to 7300 ft elevation. Loose rock and boulders on the trails, some pretty steep. Walking sticks are highly recommended.

Popular campground with limited spaces. It can be a challenge to get a reservation at this campground, but well worth the stay. Spaces are small. Not recommended for large rigs. Plenty of different hiking trails for a range of physical capabilities. Lots of shade in the campground. Drinking water is available. Hot water showers and clean restrooms.

Wow! An underrated gem! There are trails for everyone, but most are moderate to difficult. But most of the scenery can be seen from the parking lots and pull offs. Drive to the top of the mountain is steep, we saw a car pulled off that had overheated, so be aware of that. Also you should go back to Wilcox instead of going down the dirt road over the mountain when returning to I-10. Very helpful staff!
