Clearwater Lake - COE/Piedmont Park

This place is just beautiful. I am camped on a hill overlooking the water. Very well maintained and it even has covered picnic tables so, no need for a fly when raining. Very nice touch. Electric in this site and water spigots every few sites to fill tanks and hot showers. One of the nicest places I have camped since I departed on the road full time over two years ago.

I did a whole bunch of preparing, and planning, to spend a few days here. I didn't think cell phone service would be an issue. But it is, Piedmont is inside of mark twain national forest. I knew this, but didn't put it together until I got there. Every park I've been to within the mark twain boundaries has had cell phone issues or zero service at all. I liked piedmont for the price and amenities included, and it turned out to be really nice looking. I wanted to stay, but I couldn't get any sleep without having a little background noise, so I packed up and left after just one night, canceling 3 nights, and suffering a $10 cancellation fee, I took a few pictures of the lake upon arrival. Everything was great until my phone turned into a pocket watch.

Quiet, peaceful, relaxing. I spent several nights and had a wonderful view. The camp host, Sandy, was pleasant and very helpful. I'm going to stop again on my way back home

We came down from the Chicagoland area to visit family and also to see the total eclipse (April 8, 2024). We wanted to avoid high traffic areas so I ventured down south a bit and came across this park. It was absolutely perfect for viewing and was a great place to hang out and have a picnic. There’s a jungle gym for kids, boat launch, bathrooms, etc. At first I was worried it was just for camping, but we were able to come right in and spend the day there (no charge!). Highly recommended if you’re looking for a nice park to spend some time.

Great COE experience. Really nice spaces with enough area between slots. Trees are nice but so drop large acorns.

Nice park and nice sites. UPDATE: After 2 days of my tent being surrounded by leaf blowers, a front end loader and trucks, I have to lower my rating of this park to zero. I paid for a site for 14 days and have, effectively, been denied use of it. In short, the park stole my money. I have been in county, state and federal parks all over the country and never experienced anything like this.

My favorite place in Missouri. A beautiful lake and very well maintained park with boat ramp, playgrounds, camping, swim beach, and so much more. Campground has 30amp service, hot showers, dump station, back in and pull throughs. Only 8.00 during peak season with America the beautiful interagency pass and FREE during the off season. ( no water in the winter ). Primitive non electric sites also available. Check for price changes

Had a great time with family and friends. We even stopped and got ice cream just before we got there at a roadside convenient store.
