Coachland / Village Camp Truckee

We had a fantastic stay at Village Camp Truckee during our baseball tournament. I stayed in one of the pull-through RV sites with my 40-foot motorhome, while my 20-foot trailer had to be parked in the overflow lot nearby, which they were very accommodating with. Many of our teammates’ families stayed in the cabins, and everyone had a great experience. It is not a cheap place to stay, but they did offer us a good group rate for our team, which made it more reasonable for our stay. Check-in and checkout were quick and easy with no hidden fees. The complimentary Saturday breakfast was a pleasant surprise and felt very thoughtfully prepared—eggs made fresh, pancakes, and fresh-cut fruit, all presented like a cared-for, quality breakfast. The campground is clean, modern, and has great amenities, including a clubhouse, fitness area, picnic spaces with BBQs and campfires, playground, soccer field, and plenty of room for families to relax. The cabins were modern and very clean, and my RV site was level, paved, and easy to hook up. The only minor downside was that the RV sites were a little tight with neighboring slides extended, but it wasn’t a major issue. The location is excellent—close to downtown Truckee, Donner Lake, and right off I-80. Even with my large RV and trailer, getting around the campground was easy. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

We recently stayed here and found the campsites themselves to be spacious, well laid out, and comfortable. We would have enjoyed our stay much more if not for one major issue. Our site was directly across from the community BBQ/park area. We’re not sure if that area is rented out to people who aren’t staying with Village Camp or if everyone was staying in the campground, but every evening it was extremely busy with large groups of people and numerous cars parked around our campsite. The biggest disappointment, however, was how many people repeatedly walked directly through our campsite instead of using the roads or designated paths. We’re not talking about walking near the edge—they were literally cutting between our trailer and our picnic table. We’ve been camping for over 20 years and have never experienced so many people casually walking through an occupied campsite. Some even seemed annoyed when we looked at them in surprise. Our neighbors electric cord was pulled out of the socket and disconnected their power creating quit a problem and they questioned whether it was on purpose or accidentally done with all the foot traffic on both side of our trailers. We understand that the campground can’t control every guest’s behavior, so this isn’t entirely a reflection on the staff. However, if you’re assigned a site near the community BBQ/park area, be prepared for significantly more foot traffic, parked cars, and activity than you might expect. If privacy and a quieter camping experience are important to you, I’d recommend requesting a site farther away from that area.

I stayed at a cabin at Village Camp Truckee and had a wonderful experience. I loved the modern design and decor; the cabin was neat, clean, and equipped with everything I needed for my hiking trip. Having a washer and dryer, plus a full kitchen to prepare my own meals, made it so easy to relax after a long day on the trails. The area was quiet, parking was convenient, and the bed was super comfortable. I felt very welcome and right at home—everything was outstanding!

Village Camp Truckee is hands-down the best RV park I’ve stayed at. The property itself is beautiful, with tall pine trees throughout and spacious sites that are easy to pull into and out of. Unlike many RV parks, it doesn’t feel crowded or crammed together. There’s plenty of room to breathe and enjoy the setting. The amenities are exceptional. The clubhouse is gorgeous, with a fully equipped kitchen that guests can actually use. There’s a great fitness center, a convenient laundry facility, and a large grassy dog park that my dog absolutely loved. One of my favorite features is that there are walking and hiking trails accessible right from the property, making it easy to get outside and enjoy the incredible Truckee scenery. The staff is what truly sets Village Camp apart. Alex, the General Manager, is incredibly welcoming, accommodating, and committed to creating a great experience for guests. Carla, Stephanie, and the rest of the team are friendly, responsive, and genuinely on top of everything. They make the entire experience feel effortless. Receiving Amazon packages was easy, the property is well maintained, and there are plenty of activities and community events for guests who want to participate. If you’re looking for an RV park in the Truckee/Tahoe area, I can’t recommend Village Camp highly enough. Beautiful setting, outstanding amenities, fantastic staff, and an overall experience that is far above what I’ve come to expect from RV parks.

Our Chinook RV group gathered at your park June 1 through June 4 2026 and had an outstanding experience. We were given use of the clubhouse and wonderfully appointed kitchen for all 4 days. Your staff members are all top notch. The grounds and sites are beautifully maintained. This was the 1st visit for many of us from other states. You can be sure we will come back. Thank you for your over and above hospitality. Chinook RV Club West, Lyn Erickson, Secretary

This is an absolutely wonderful place! The layout is super for traveling in groups with the way two units are able to face each other and to have tables in between. The close location to the Donner Pass museum and trail fit right in with our travel plans. Again, great place and the lady checking us in was so much help and has a wonderful personality! Put this location on your favorites should you be in the Truckee area.

We loved Glamping in our Airstream here at Truckee Village Camp RV. It’s so nice, clean and beautiful. The staff here is amazing. My husband was especially impressed with Alex who went above & beyond for us. We enjoyed the free Saturday breakfast that had a wide variety of delicious breakfast choices. We came here with several of our best friends, who also thoroughly enjoyed their stay. We will definitely be back many times.

We absolutely loved our stay! The cabin felt like our own little home away from home. Our boys had the best time experiencing a snowy Christmas, and we really appreciated being able to cook meals and enjoy cozy family time together. Such a special and memorable stay, we would definitely come back!

Our stay at Village Camp Truckee was fantastic! The rooms were extremely clean, modern, and comfortable. You can tell they really pay attention to the details—everything was well-organized and thoughtfully designed. The service was excellent as well. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and quick to assist with anything we needed. You truly feel valued as a guest. The location is perfect—peaceful and surrounded by nature, yet still close to downtown Truckee and all the outdoor activities in the area. It’s an ideal place to relax while also exploring everything the region has to offer. We will definitely be coming back! Highly recommended!

We stayed in one of the cabins and had a great time! Everything in this cabin and the campground was extremely clean and well kept. Saturday we went to the clubhouse and ate a really good breakfast and played scrabble while we ate which was fun. The cabins are super cute not sure you can really get 4 adults to stay there comfortably but it was perfect for the 2 of us and they had everything there you need, shampoo, conditioner, coffee pods, pots, pans, dishes etc! I will definitely be back!! Oh and the staff were all super friendly and helpful

Very clean campground! On Saturdays they surprise guests with breakfast, and it was honestly such a great one. You don’t often find campgrounds that offer this kind of detail. Close to Lake Tahoe, with friendly and helpful staff. It’s not the most kid-friendly place in terms of activities, but if you bring bikes the kids will still have fun. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back.

Everything was clean, new, and well equipped with utensils, cup's, wine glasses—everything you need for the kitchen. The bathroom even has heated floors. It’s a great and cozy place to stay. We loved that it’s only 30 minutes from Lake Tahoe; we rented e-bikes there and had an amazing time. When we got back to the cabin, we lit the fireplace and enjoyed the evening with our friends who were staying in two cabins down from ours. There are also restaurants nearby. It’s a very beautiful and well-located place. I’d definitely go back and highly recommend it.

We stayed for two nights in a compact but well-equipped cabin. Everything we needed was there, especially in the kitchen — it was neatly organized and fully stocked for up to four people, which made it very convenient for the two of us. We stayed in a pet-friendly unit with our dog, and although there was a bit of pet hair on the carpet and sofa from previous guests, we were still very grateful to have a place that welcomed dogs since most other units don’t allow them. We’re so happy to have made another beautiful memory with our dog here!

We stayed in the tiny home style cabins for two nights. First I’ll say that these are beautiful and modern inside but I would NOT recommend staying here with toddlers. We unfortunately had a full day of rain during our stay and with not much to do indoors in the Truckee area we had to stay at the cabin most of the day. The cabin is VERY small so spending time there with more than two people it’s very close quarters. If it were two feet wider and the loft ceilings were a foot taller it would have made it a lot easier to navigate with small kids. It was also very hard to accommodate a pack and play in both the loft and the main bedroom. I wouldn’t recommend staying here with kids under the age of 6 or 7. The loft stairs are also incredibly steep so if you have a little one on the move you need to barricade the stairs haha. I only say these things to warn families with littles that it’s not great for small kids! Overall it was a very nice stay and we enjoyed the fire pit both nights. The cabins come with a full kitchen with fridge/freezer, dishwasher and even a washer and dryer. The two negative notes I would mention are the heating system takes a LONG time to get going and when you arrive (if it’s a cold day) the cabin will be very cold for at least the first hour of your stay. Lastly, the shower water doesn’t get very hot which was weird because the sink water gets incredibly hot! Not sure if they have it capped at a lower temp but I would consider it warm not hot so if you’re a hot shower person this might disappoint! We would stay again—without kids haha
