Coastal Dunes RV Park & Campground

Coastal dunes staff was fantastic and helpful. Very close to the dunes but not the nicest sites. Honestly you get what you pay for. The site was very quiet for October and everyone seemed to be at the nicer RV resorts down the road. We had tons of ants the entire time while here which was frustrating. You can walk through the site across the main road into the Park Ranger station and then follow that road to the dunes. About a 12 min walk which is really pleasant. We stayed for a week and it was fine but nothing beautifully pleasant. Again you are paying for this experience. So if you’re chill- it will be lovely

The only good thing about this RV park is the proximity to the beach. It’s tucked in between a busy road and a railroad, making it very noisy. The sites are small and too close to each other, with no tables or benches or fire pits. The restroom and shower facilities are old and dirty (not even any handsoap), and the laundry doesn’t have a machine for quarters or detergent. The pool is closed and seems like it has been for a while, as there are weeds growing on the cover. I don’t see how you’re getting your money’s worth at 65$ a night.

Very nice camping campground. Our family enjoyed it very much. Will love to return. Bathrooms are very close and the beach is only a 3 minute drive.

Great proximity to the beach. Easy to walk or drive onto the beach and a great site for families. We’ve been coming here yearly for about 10 years; no one drives fast, or plays loud music late into the night, kids are often riding bikes & scooters. The bathrooms are cleaned/ toilet paper restocked regularly and the hot water in showers is free. There are also outlets in the bathroom but there aren’t any mirrors so bring them one if needed. There is also a laundry room which is great when camping with small kids, but bring quarters for the machines. The camping sites are a bit narrow & separated by a narrow road so it can be hard to back up an RV if there’s someone in the campsite across from you. There’s water and power hookups and all the rv hookups.

Pretty nice park if you get a double site. Can be busy on weekends. Easy walk to the beach.

Great campground, just a short walk from the beach, backs up to train tracks and pch in front, but still worth the stay.

Love this camp site stuff are wonderful.. I have been going here for awhile and love it. Very nice and rangers take good care of the place can't say the same about the campers on holidays. Over all awesome job and will always come back.

We considered this campground for a stay and drove through for an assessment. This place is miserable. Sites are extremely close together with no divider, everything seems in disrepair, vegetation is sparse and unkept. The pool is closed with a dirty cover in the off- season. To complete the picture, there are some permanents with the requisite janky additions to their old campers and belongings strewn around their site. Situated between train tracks and the road just feet away - couldn't do any worse if they tried. And top of ALL this, they currently want $57 for a site plus $10 reservation fee.

I stayed here at the hike and bike site. The staff and rangers were all very friendly. The rangers frequently drive around to make sure everything's okay. Showers were nice and hot. Laundry facilities were good. It is next to a main road and active train tracks, so keep that in mind.

They are very nice and got us in when we needed it. The office staff are wonderful and the park is kept clean. Close to the beach and you can hear the waves most nights. It a great place to stay and nicely priced.

A nice place to camp, a little crowded but it was fun.

If you are bike touring the Pacific Coast this place has a hike n' bike campsite and it's not bad. The RV park has a pool and hot showers, walking distance to the beach and there is a liquor store near by + food places. Its luxury compared to other state parks, this spot is run by SLO County.

One of my worst camping. Not a peaceful place between the highway 1 and the rail road. And the shower and toilets was awful (you can judge by yourself with the photos) The staff was kind and great location. But definitely not worth $55 for the night

It was above average. Not to far from the beach.
