Booked sites for a Sunday thru Thursday. When we showed up the area looked like a parking lot with cars and trucks in the road and a group of more than 20 people. The people next to us and across the way had set up tents and pop-ups in our sites and had parked their cars in our sites. There are camp hosts for each area and park employees are constantly driving around but no one bothered to tell these people they couldn't take over other sites or block the road. We ended up moving to different sites but the trees were not maintained for trailers to back under them with branches too low. Luckily a Park employee drove by and asked how things were going and we told him they were not going well because these trees were not being maintained properly for trailers. He was very helpful and offered to get a saw and trim the trees on the spot for us so we could move in. After he did a great job of trimming the trees up for us we finally got settled in. However our sites were right next to the stop lights and along the road and we're very noisy whereas our original sites were not along the roadway and far away from the stop lights. We have been coming here for years and we have noticed that the regulations and rules in the park have been more relaxed and letting people just move their tents and cars into the sites next to them if they are not currently occupied even though they have not rented those sites.
If we ever decide to come back here again even though we've been coming here for years we will either get a double site or rent three sites so we can have a space between us where we can set up because the single sites are very narrow.

Pretty nice park if you get a double site. Can be busy on weekends.  Easy walk to the beach.

Second time staying here. There is a lot of road noise at all hours since highway 1 is on one side and there are train tracks on the other side. We weren’t able to have our ac on and our hot water heater set to electric with our tripping the breaker. Lots of people that live full time. Bathrooms and showers are ok. Not the best. There is no pool. It is closed. Also we now have ants in our trailer. The nice part was we were moving from one rv park to the other and they let us check in early since there was no one in our spot the night before! This allowed us to not have to wait 4 hours.

The park is a long thin strip between highway 1 and the railroad track. We've been here 18 hours and only one fast passenger train has gone by. The highway traffic moves smoothly so is a dull roar, no problem for us in our VW camper. We walked down to the dune buggy beach and back,  about 5000 steps according to my Fitbit. There were a couple of eating places on the route. Downtown is 3/4 mile down 1. There are some trees. It's an ok place.

Coastal dunes staff was fantastic and helpful. Very close to the dunes but not the nicest sites. Honestly you get what you pay for. The site was very quiet for October and everyone seemed to be at the nicer RV resorts down the road. We had tons of ants the entire time while here which was frustrating. You can walk through the site across the main road into the Park Ranger station and then follow that road to the dunes. About a 12 min walk which is really pleasant. We stayed for a week and it was fine but nothing beautifully pleasant. Again you are paying for this experience. So if you’re chill- it will be lovely

The only good thing about this RV park is the proximity to the beach.
It’s tucked in between a busy road and a railroad, making it very noisy. The sites are small and too close to each other, with no tables or benches or fire pits. The restroom and shower facilities are old and dirty (not even any handsoap), and the laundry doesn’t have a machine for quarters or detergent.
The pool is closed and seems like it has been for a while, as there are weeds growing on the cover.
I don’t see how you’re getting your money’s worth at 65$ a night.

Very nice camping campground. Our family enjoyed it very much. Will love to return. Bathrooms are very close and the beach is only a 3 minute drive.

Great proximity to the beach. Easy to walk or drive onto the beach and a great site for families. We’ve been coming here yearly for about 10 years; no one drives fast, or plays loud music late into the night, kids are often riding bikes & scooters. The bathrooms are cleaned/ toilet paper restocked regularly and the hot water in showers is free. There are also outlets in the bathroom but there aren’t any mirrors so bring them one if needed. There is also a laundry room which is great when camping with small kids, but bring quarters for the machines.

The camping sites are a bit narrow & separated by a narrow road so it can be hard to back up an RV if there’s someone in the campsite across from you. There’s water and power hookups and all the rv hookups.

Pretty nice park if you get a double site. Can be busy on weekends.  Easy walk to the beach.

Great campground,  just a short walk from the beach,  backs up to train tracks and pch in front,  but still worth the stay.

This place is great always friendly ppl place is always clean with showers and laundry rooms closé to the beach and all there is to see in the area

They are very nice and got us in when we needed it. The office staff are wonderful and the park is kept clean. Close to the beach and you can hear the waves most nights. It a great place to stay and nicely priced.

A nice place to camp, a little crowded but it was fun.

If you are bike touring the Pacific Coast this place has a hike n' bike campsite and it's not bad. The RV park has a pool and hot showers, walking distance to the beach and there is a liquor store near by + food places. Its luxury compared to other state parks, this spot is run by SLO County.

One of my worst camping. Not a peaceful place between the highway 1 and the rail road.
And the shower and toilets was awful (you can judge by yourself with the photos)

The staff was kind and great location. But definitely not worth $55 for the night

It was above average. Not to far from the beach.

This is a great rv park! I came here with the wife and kids  a few months back and they had a blast. it's pretty close to the ocean and very close to the Pismo state beach. There is a lot to see and explore and it's a great rv campground to stay out if you are with your family or a loved one. You won't ever be bored in this are and the staff is quite pleasant as well. It can be a bit difficult to find a good rv campground these days but I definitely recommend this rv park to anyone passing by or staying in the area.
