(3 RVs) Enjoyed our short visit of two nights, went white water rafting. We had a riverfront site but it had a lot of tree growth could only view about 60% and steep hill down below site to river. RV sites are narrow, especially when slides are out- rigs are lined up tight. Would recommend do your research and look into site size to make sure you get what you need/want. Site 46 pictured

Our spot along the river was PERFECT. The issue I have is that all the rules and expectations they have are not upheld. Loud music and hollering until 1:30 in the morning despite notifying staff. The campsite is PACKED with vehicles. The garbage area is overfilled. The amount of beer bottles all over the lawn area when we tried to use the volleyball net was disappointing and disgusting. It’s basically a party town which is fine if that’s the type of camp they want to run but if you’re going to allow huge groups of people and loud music set the expectations properly so people who want a chill pretty spot along the river aren’t greatly disappointed like we were.

Our family has spent the past 5 years returning to the Coloma Resort and there is a reason we keep coming back. The resort is right on the river with plenty of river access. The resort has sites for tent camping, RVs and a variety of different cabin types. This has made it ideal for camping with different friends and families over the years that have different needs and desires. There is an assortment of activities including basketball, cornhole, a pool, panning for gold, and playgrounds. Our cabin was clean and very comfortable for our family of 4 but it could accommodate up to 6. There is wifi access, but it is nice to be able to unplug and enjoy time with each other. The only hard part is having to pack up and leave. We can't wait to head back next year.

I have a complaint. My family of 3 just recently stayed the campsite. My complaint is, I didn't appreciate being harassed by the staff for being loud cuz the site next to us said so. Instead of asking if we were loud, we were simply blamed for the family leaving beside us. All because the site next to us said so. I feel that the family next to us really didn't want to be there and used us as an excuse to get their money back. I go there about 3-6 times a year (used to). So, I know the rules. Once 10pm hits, we shut the radio and lower our voices (the staff loves showing up to regulate the rules). Had they had asked, I could've told them that the family next to us was bickering with each other all day and we could tell they did not want to stay there. They complained about the rain. They were complaining to each other about whose turn it was to watch their kids all day. Mind you, I know we were a little loud but we brought the noise down and shut the radio off once 10pm hit. Other tenants there agreed that we weren't even loud. I could've also told them that they started packing up by 8pm. So, they had already made up their mind to leave before curfew. Our last couple days being there was horrible for me. All I could think of was how I am a repeat customer and we got blamed for being bad tenants. When all it was is the next door bamboozling them to get a refund. We gave this place another chance despite have issues with them giving away our site last time. I feel that this place was great a couple years ago but had gone down in customer service since then. I had emailed them about the issues and still no reply.

Joey in the Office personifies customer service. She really made sure we were comfortable and happy with our sights and helped to secure them for next year In an era where Customer service seems to be a dying art, employees like Joey give me faith in our future. How to mention the beautiful grounds… One of the most amazing settings that you could possibly imagine. Just downstream of troublemaker, rapping on the beautiful South Fork, American River, how lucky are we to get to spend family vacations in a spot like this. I’m so grateful that my kids have grown up with such of an amazing vacation in their lives.

As a family of 4, we make our annual trip to Coloma. We get a cabin near the river where we see deer, ducks, otters and people rafting. Great way to disconnect and reconnect with family.

Nice mixed use resort with RV camping spots (full hookups or just w & e), well designed tent sites, rental cabins and group bunkhouse accommodations. Sitting right on the shore of the south fork of the American River. River access at multiple locations and just across from a historical site where the California gold rush began. The property is well maintained and was pretty busy over the weekend, but slows down during the week.

I have been going here for years. I go with family and I go alone. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Campground and restrooms are always clean. I love the history that surrounds this location and in walking distance. This is my favorite campground.

Great place to stay right where the California historical gold rush started. Some of the RV and tent sites are right on the river. Tent sites are spacious and there are small cabins for those that want that type of convenience. Clean grounds and courteous staff. This is also a wedding and event venue. We stayed over for New Year's and we had our same spot as previous years. Year round enjoyment.

Green areas near campsites full of dog poop. Camping sites has only one restroom not enough to cover the needs of the campers. During night time camping rules are not being imposed by the camping staff the so called quite time which is 10 pm. Broken bottles are on the rivers edge and on the rivers little man made pools. Alot of unwanted materials are just being left on the rivers edge. You can smell cannabis all over the campsites.i would not commend this place unless they will do something immediately and imposed camp rules.

We've been coming to Coloma Resort with our trailers for 4 years with friends. It's on the American River. They have RV, cabins, wagons, and tent camping sites. Many sites are on the riverbank. These have power and water with a dump station onsite. Most sites off the river are full hook-up. They have a pool, playground, store, and a lot of grassy areas. Several restrooms and showers throughout the park. Always well stocked and clean. Best for last the staff are so friendly. Hope you enjoy the site. RV sites have a noon checkout time. Cabins are a 10am checkout. We scheduled our 2025 Memorial Stay when we checked out. The facility has gotten a face-lift with automated gates, a check-in shack, and upgraded greenery. Labor Day 2024: The park is full. Had a nice visit with friends. I'm hoping to book a spot for 2025. Memorial Holiday 2025 - lots of flowers, nice walking paths, and the friendly staff are still there.

We’ve made this the annual trip for my wife’s birthday at the end of March. It’s a nice weekend away, when we have nothing to do, no other obligations. There is a bunch of history in the area including the gold rush and a couple short hikes. Weather in Spring can be unpredictable, and the river is moving very fast. Watch your kids. The park is clean, well maintained and staff is friendly.

I've been coming here since I was a kid, almost every year for the gold rush reenactment. They have done lots of work, some is good, and some, not so much. I guess the old store burned down, which is shame because the new store has none of the charm, and about a tenth of items, as the old store. There used to be way more little nicknacks and kitchy camping gifts and things. They also got rid of the chicken coop and the little old west town. All the old facades of blacksmith shop, banks and hotels are gone. Not a single place to take corny old times photos and that's a shame. On the positive side, they have expanded a lot! Where a ropes course used to be they now have all sorts of lodging options. There are little cabins, glamping tents, bunk houses, a full cottage with deck, tent spots, rv spots and even two covered wagons. It is not cheap, but they have really cleaned up the property and we saw the crew cleaning leafs and taking trash constantly. It's right in Coloma on the American River, so you really can't be the location. It will get cold in the winter, but that doesn't stop people from rafting.

First time visiting and will definitely be coming back. We had space 98 and it was nice spot but backing in took several attempts as not a lot of room but once in all good. We have 38’ 5th wheel and that’s the only reason it was a little more difficult with space. Smaller trailers were able to back in first attempt.

It's a family tradition now to go there every year. We book the camping spot each year right after we leave there. It's very family friendly with a lot of camping activities and good facilities. The restrooms and shower rooms are clean and spacious. It's right next to the American River with a good view and convenient to arrange a day trip on the water for rafting. The store is lovely and it carries almost everything you need for camping. Their souvenirs are cute too. You can even buy a small bottle of gold for kids :)
