This is such a great campground. We visited with two kids (6 and 1) in December (with an RV, naturally). Wasn't too cold! Stunning views, squeaky clean restrooms, even when considering we were the only ones around. Highly recommended winter camping, as long as you can keep warm at night.

Saddlehorn Campground at Colorado National Monument is an absolute gem! The campsites are incredibly well-maintained and thoughtfully spaced apart, giving you privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. The bathrooms are spotless, which is a huge plus when camping. I stayed at Lot 47B, and I have to say, it offers the best view of Fruita Canyon—you wake up to stunning scenery right outside your tent. The entire campground is quiet and serene, making it perfect for a relaxing outdoor escape. If you're camping anywhere near the area, this spot is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

What a beautiful campground! We had no problem getting a site on a weekend in late September. Some sites are a bit small, but ours was quite large. Bathrooms were the best we’ve ever experienced in a National Park (newly renovated). The Visitor Center and two amazing canyon overlooks are a close walk away. Ideally suited for tent campers, vans or small RVs.

GREAT camping experience! The bathrooms were the best I’ve ever used in any campground! The camp host was nice. Everyone followed the quiet hours and was a peaceful experience. The sites had amazing views and the tent pads and grills were nicely maintained and flat. The weather was perfect this time of year. We stayed in loop A.

We booked on a whim unsure of what to expect. We’re headed to Utah but couldn’t find camping anywhere in arches. When we arrived we were awestruck. This is a gorgeous campground tucked atop the cliffs, a gorgeous snake winding road with phenomenal views leading up the top. Even more astounding views at the top. We tented in loop B. Found it difficult to find level ground & the earth was very soft for the pegs. There was a washroom that is heated which is clean and lovely. Central location. It was easy to find the spot and back into. Unfortunately we were stuck in a massive windstorm and it snowed through the night, we needed to re secure the tent many times so we didn’t get much of a good rest. This would be a great place to come for camping and if we had better weather and were better prepared we’d have stayed in a heart beat. We got an airbnb instead and came back to do the hikes and enjoy the scenery.

Awesome views. Pretty comfortable campsites. Does not have showers but otherwise it's great.

What an awesome campground. There’s a lot of ants but they are NOT fire ants. They are leaf cutter ants and we would have saved ourselves a lot of go around if we would have known that. We showed up right when there’s no one on site 5-7 pm. We ultimately moved campsites from loop B to Loop C but we ended up having a better site for our larger sized tent. Leaf cutter ant mounds look menacing but find some sticks/fallen wood and make a border so they don’t go to your campsite. They won’t cross the wood. Loop C (I think 74C) was walkable distance to the outlook. Nice bathrooms with flush toilets (no showers) and our site had a family bathroom which was great with kids. The ranger at the station and the camp host were incredibly nice and helpful. 41B site was right next to bathrooms but it wasn’t a great size for our bigger tent. Call and ask them which site would be best for whatever you’re camping in - they can all vary.

Wonderful views from the campground. Clean flush toilets and a sink to wash dishes (clean out the food from the drain before you leave). There is potable water and a dump station near the entrance/exit to campground. You can walk to town (Springdale) for food, drinks, and supplies. We brought bikes to ride in the park. Showers would make this five plus stars!
