Colorado Springs KOA Holiday

This was my third time here as in the past I have brought my kids and then shared this experience with many others and recommended them to come. While it's been 6 years since I've come, I saw changes. Positives: the staff were highly present and seem to like their jobs. The activities were full and staff were engaged to bring a fun environment. It was 4th of July weekend so very busy. I noticed a lot more RVs versus tents. Disappointments: The bounce pad was not inflated enough to even bounce on it. You sank and feet could touch the ground. I hyped this up with the kid we brought this time and was sorry we couldn't enjoy it. It was faded as well. When I asked the staff if it could be blown up he mentioned it's been like that for a while. Bathroom was not maintained and often had a clogged toilet or paper all over ground and it seemed the checklist on the back noted checked once at 12:00 daily. We used to get the cabins facing the river and I'm glad we don't have them now because they put the dog park there right in front of the cabins impacting The view and having less peacefulneas. My cabin had a half broken blind at the level The light came right to my eyes when sleeping. I did bring this to their attention at checkout. Some cabins had patio benches , others didn't .. we were one! Consistency would be nice. We even had a deluxe cabin with 7 beds yet no extra places to sit!? There used to be grills with some cabins (facing the dog park) And I noticed they were gone. I used the camping kitchen And the grill was covered with spider webs. Some of the burners worked on the stove top and some didn't. It appears there's new ownership as well. I appreciate the staff, but you should be getting what you paid for in amenities for camping, not just the fun activity schedule as some people just want to relax. (Do be prepared to hear highway traffic at a high level but that's just this location and comes with it) If you're looking for a place for kids with a pool splash pad area, I recommend it, but maybe not on a holiday weekend at it's highly crowded at the pool. If you're looking for quiet woodsy camping, try elsewhere.

We recently stayed at the KOA Holiday in Fountain and overall had a pleasant experience with the campground. The facilities were clean, and we appreciated that the campground offers family-friendly activities like the evening glow hayride. Unfortunately, one aspect of that event significantly impacted our stay. Between approximately 9:00 p.m. and 9:57 p.m., the truck pulling the hayride repeatedly sounded a miniature train horn throughout the campground. While we understand that the event ran until quiet hours and had no issue with the lights, music, or excited children enjoying themselves, the repeated use of the train horn late in the evening was excessive. We were putting our children to bed during this time, and each pass by our campsite woke our three-year-old. After the third or fourth time, I politely approached the driver, who identified himself as Michael, and simply asked if he could avoid sounding the horn near our camper because our child was trying to sleep. Rather than stopping to have a conversation, he continued driving, requiring me to walk alongside the moving vehicle just to finish my request. After I asked politely, he immediately sounded the horn again as he drove away, waking our older child who had already fallen asleep. When I later asked for his name, his response was simply that he was “just doing his job,” delivered in a dismissive and rude manner. Family activities are one of the reasons people choose KOA, and we fully support those events. However, there is a reasonable balance between creating a fun atmosphere and being considerate of families with young children, especially as quiet hours approach. A simple adjustment—such as limiting or eliminating the train horn near occupied campsites later in the evening—would preserve the fun without unnecessarily disturbing other guests. I hope management reviews this practice and addresses how staff respond to reasonable guest concerns. The campground itself has a lot to offer, but this interaction left an otherwise positive stay on a disappointing note

We purchased day passes for one adult and two kids for just $50, and it was absolutely worth it! We were able to participate in all of the scheduled activities, including decorating hats, sunglasses, and paper plates, playing bingo (we won four times and took home around nine full-size candy bars!), swimming, riding the wagon ride, spraying willing campers with water, competing in a bucket relay, enjoying the foam party, and cooling off in the sprinklers. We arrived around 10:00 a.m. and stayed until 7:00 p.m., and there was never a dull moment. The pool is open all day, so you can swim whenever you'd like, and the spa was a nice bonus for relaxing. We had such a great time that we're already planning to come back and spend the night. A cabin for the three of us is only $85, making it an incredibly affordable getaway. The staff was friendly, the activities were well organized, and there was something fun for everyone. We highly recommend it and will definitely be back!

I'm an abuse survivor. I recently camped with my twin boys thinking the koa would be a safe option for a mom with kids. The pool, water area and hot tub are maintained by a nice man and he was great. Unfortunately there was another male there who decided to expose and pleasure himself in the hot tub near the pool filled with kids. The facility told him quietly to leave and reassured me the gross man would be leaving tomorrow. The security guy then tells me he got in trouble for the same thing the day before. Twice! They let him stay. Didn't call the police. They protected a criminal and I did not feel safe the rest of our stay.

In this travel business it is very hard to product an exact arrival time though we try. On June sixth we arrived at this koa one and a half hours early the woman at the desk said you must leave on go out on the main rd and park? I asked if there was room in the park where I could wait she told me no there was no place you could park?? When we entered the park later I saw available wait space everywhere. Can’t understand why she made us park on the main rd???? She seemed to busy whit the child sitting at the desk next to her to be involved with paying customers maybe she should be stocking shelves if she can’t please customers. When’s to the office to for outgoing mail and was informed we don’t do that???? I and others will never be back there are other campgrounds. Also I don’t get the attitude your office help projects. If you desire to respute my comments Pat. 2013708303

I took my 8 year old son here for a 2 night cabin stay during last weekend's "Slime Fest" and he loved it. This is now our go to every other weekend. The staff is awesome. The front desk ladies are great. The lady in the Hall that runs the daily weekend events for the kids is amazing. The manager that gave the kids the hot water line from the hot tub to the heated pool to play with is chill and kind. Note the pool grounds are open 10am-8pm despite a sign falsely stating the close at 5pm that I was told to disregard by staff. They also have a splash pad water park, a giant "jump" pad that admittedly has lost its bounce, life sized chess, basketball court, and a cafe area with a rather adequate menu albeit I never saw anyone at or running it. 🤔 There are daily timed events for kids held in the Escape Hall on weekends that can be found on their site, community fires in the evening and night, personal fire pits and grills, mini Jeeps with what looked like a dirt track, golf carts, and Fountain Creek nearby. The grounds were clean and maintained from what I saw and the community and environment quite peaceful and welcoming. There is some highway traffic nearby that can be heard, but neither I nor my boy found it loud or overwhelming whatsoever, especially after it slows at night and inside the cabin. The cabin we stayed in, #1, was clean and comfortably suited our simple needs. It has a mini fridge, AC/heater, ceiling fan, flat-screen TV and a queen sized bed. Make sure you bring your own sheets, pillows and blankets, as they are not provided. Everything worked perfectly and we had no issues with their guest wifi for TV use and tablet gameplay. Already booked and defintely looking forward to staying again. 👍

Overall a great stay. Friendly staff. Great selection in the store for items to purchase. Bunch of activities for adults and children to utilize. My only complaint is cabins 2 and 3 heater don't work. Cabin 3 handle and lock is loose, but I was prepared for the cold so I didn't suffer too bad. I wish there were more KOA Holidays. It is also nice to have people that work here that are American and ithat speak English.

We went camping with the family in Oct! I normally try to name drop but do not remember the managers name, but she was amazing. They had so many activities for the kids. The other guests were friendly as well. I can't brag on this place enough. All of the staff was great, the sites were clean and grounds were well taken care of, and the kama kitchen was clean and awesome. We will definitely be back!

The crew at this KOA work tirelessly to make our stay pleasant. AJ kept the bathrooms spotless (and that was a job with the large group of people who stay there). Everyone was so friendly and there are tons of activities for both young and old. I especially loved the two small waterfalls on the nearby river. We will plan on staying there again in the future.

Unfortunately this place is run down, dirty, just in need of someone to want to make it better. The cabin we had didn’t have heat, we had one outlet with char marks, and the air just couldn’t keep it cool. The bathrooms definitely needed some attention, the hot tub didn’t work, weeds were out of control at every rv site. The price you pay for this place someone should definitely want to make it more comfortable for it’s guests.

We arrived on Wednesday 9/25 late in the afternoon. When we tried to check in to deluxe cabin 35 someone had misplaced the key. The entire staff did everything possible to accommodate us. Definitely more than I would have. They were going to set us up none of their basic cabins. We would have been ok witj that. Then, they were able to get our original cabin open and changed the lock and key. This probably sounds like its to be expected however, after our long drive, it was worth the wait. The cabin is incredible. The staff have all been great. You want a no worry place to stay and relax??? These folks have nailed it.

This KOA is amazing from the events to the amenities I love that we were able to bring the kiddos and our four legged kiddo. There is something for every age the Glowride is so fun and the staff is extremely helpful. We will be back

About 1 hour and 20 minutes from Denver, this is a huge campground with over 250 sites. The swimming pool is small, but they’re building a splash pool for kids. The staff are friendly, and there’s a spacious walking trail for dogs. What I liked the most was the camp kitchen—it's very convenient for users, equipped with electric cooktops and gas grills. On the downside, there aren’t many restrooms or showers, and being next to I-25, you can hear highway noise. However, the sound of the nearby creek is constant and soothing. It's a family-friendly place rather than a nature-immersed one, and it's a bit disappointing that the streetlights stay on at night, making stargazing difficult.

Front desk (Sonia) was extremely helpful and professional. Let’s just say. The customer in front of me was extremely pushy with her. And Sonia kept her cool very impressive. Bathrooms are clean. Park is clean well maintained. The only negative is the traffic noise at night. If you’re in the area, this is worth a night or two.

It was so great, clean bathrooms, kitchen area, and things to do like a volleyball area and a giant chess board with about 3 foot plastic pieces. Also they were very friendly and patient with my many questions and requests such as late check in and early check out. Also there is such a great view of the mountains, and a lovely creek with a short waterfall nearby, and so much outdoor fun all around!
