Compton Ridge Campground & Lodge

Overview

Compton Ridge Campground & Lodge offers a scenic getaway in the heart of the Ozark Mountains. Known for its wooded setting and ridge-top views, this park provides a classic camping experience paired with modern conveniences. It features a mix of RV sites, tent areas, and lodge accommodations, making it a versatile choice for those visiting the Branson area. The park emphasizes a family-oriented atmosphere where the natural beauty of Missouri is always on display, providing a quiet retreat from the neon lights of the city.

Location & Surroundings

Situated just minutes west of the bustling Branson Strip, the campground sits on a high ridge that offers cool breezes and a lush forest canopy. Its proximity to Silver Dollar City makes it one of the most convenient home bases for theme park enthusiasts. Despite being close to major attractions, the park feels secluded, surrounded by the rolling hills and dense woodlands characteristic of southwest Missouri. The elevation provides a sense of peace and a distinct break from the high-traffic tourist zones nearby.

Amenities & Park Features

The facility is well-equipped for long-term stays or quick weekend trips. RVers can choose from full hookup sites that accommodate various rig sizes, including spacious pull-through options. On-site recreation is a highlight, featuring both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, allowing for swimming regardless of the season. Families often gather at the playground or the large game room for evening entertainment. Essential services like laundry facilities, clean bathhouses, and a camp store ensure a comfortable and stress-free stay for all guests.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Beyond the immediate vicinity of the park, visitors have easy access to the aquatic activities at Table Rock Lake, including world-class bass fishing and boat rentals. The nearby Shepherd of the Hills provides historical tours and outdoor drama performances that capture the spirit of the region. Of course, the world-class entertainment, shopping, and dining of downtown Branson are just a short drive away. For those seeking nature, the local hiking trails offer a chance to explore the unique limestone bluffs and wildlife of the Ozarks.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is ideal for families and groups looking for a balanced vacation that combines outdoor relaxation with easy access to high-energy entertainment. It is particularly well-suited for travelers visiting Silver Dollar City who want to avoid the congestion of central Branson while staying only a mile away from the park gates. Because it offers lodge rooms alongside RV sites, it is also a great choice for multi-generational reunions where different family members have varying lodging preferences.

Pool is open after Labor Day and late which is great. M-T 9am to 10pm F-S 9am to 11pm. Each site has full hookups and a fire pit. They have laundry and across the street is a really good restaurant with giant pancakes and very good food. Silver dollar City is a mile away. The only downside was site 7 which we were camped next to. The owners may want to do a welfare check on these permanent residents. Dog feces were on and surrounding their site. It was obvious they never clean up after their dog. Trash was piled up next to the camper. Aboned pet carriers and cigarette butts all around. Other than that our stay was great.

My family and I have camped in Branson several times, but we’ve never been very satisfied with the campgrounds. This campground is by far our favorite! It was easy to find and easy to park our rig. Our site had electric, water, sewage, and cable TV hookups. We’ll definitely be back!

We absolutely loved our stay at Compton Ridge RV Park! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how immaculately clean the entire park was — everything from the restrooms to the campsites was spotless and well-maintained. The pool was an absolute highlight — crystal clear, refreshing, and perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. You can tell they take great pride in keeping it in top condition. One of our favorite features was the gazebos on the sites — such a thoughtful touch! They provided the perfect shaded space to sit outside, enjoy meals, or just unwind. It made our campsite feel like a little private retreat. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend Compton Ridge to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and relaxing RV park experience.

The contacts (possible owners) for Compton Ridge are extremely nice, welcoming, and flexible. The park has many full-time residents, but all were quiet/friendly/welcoming. The pool is well kept. We did not use the bath houses or laundry. It is a work in a progress for the new owners, but everything seems accessible. They have great parking for extra vehicles and provide dog bags for pickup. The location is great with a drive right to Ozark Mountain Pizza and Billy Gail's across the street and just down from SDC campground. There was leftover mess on the site with lots of old cigarette butts, old kid's happy meal toys, and an old water bottle etc (which was left more similar to some park-type campground sites that are self-serve). We could see that they were very busy trying to refurbish the overall property, so they may have missed cleaning up the site. Our biggest negative was the park size. The park is just too tight to comfortably park and pull through to leave a trailer anywhere nearby 40ft and 5th wheel height. The roads are narrow to leave, angles do not allow you to go out one of the other ways, and larger power lines are closer to the trailer than we would have liked on the way out too. Great location and stay for a trailer in the lower- mid 20s in length to us. The larger sites have plenty of room for the trailer, but getting in and out of the park roads is the issue that would keep up from returning.

NEW OWNERS!! Totally remodeled and revamped from my last visit. All new furniture, appliances, wifi 7, etc. beautiful little spot inbetween town and Silver Dollar City. Very impressed with the amenities and staff. Apparently they now offer extended stays in Compton Ridge proper, as well as the RV Park. If you are planning a trip to Branson, this is an awesome place to sleep.
