Crescent City / Redwoods KOA Holiday

Upon arrival we used the restrooms and found them dirty. Shower was clogged with 4 inches standing water in the mens room. At 4am we noticed a guy showering then quickly left in truck out front??? We love the location and sites but it does need TLC to maintain the value. Trash cans are full and tree debris needs to be cleaned up. I hope we can continue to recommend this campground to our friends and family.

I’ve always been a loyal KOA customer, but after my recent experience, I’m incredibly disappointed by the lack of communication, empathy, and overall poor customer service. Two days in a row, I tried calling the campground with no response. The situation was already stressful: my daughter went into preterm labor and tragically lost her baby on the morning of our check-in. I emailed the facility early in the day, explaining the situation, but received no response. Later that afternoon, someone from the campground called me to ask if we were keeping our reservation. I explained the heartbreaking circumstances, but the person on the phone showed no empathy whatsoever. She seemed in a rush to get off the phone and barely acknowledged the situation. I wasn’t even asking for a full refund—just more than $30 on a $220+ reservation seemed unreasonable under the circumstances. Because my reservation was for a cabin and the other part of our group had a tent site, I offered to let them take our cabin to help ease their stay. The person on the phone said this might be possible, but they would lose some of the money the other group paid. She asked me to call back once I had decided what to do. However, despite calling at least 20 times after that, no one answered the phone or responded to my emails. This experience was not just frustrating but deeply hurtful during an already painful time. I’ve always supported KOA, but this lack of sympathy and poor communication has left a lasting negative impact on me and my family.

Decent enough. A little older KOA, but still has plenty to keep the kids occupied on your way through. Quiet nights sleep...most important. Dog park, walking trails, and playground for little ones. They are in the process of sprucing things up. Some good sized Redwoods on the property. Definitely would stay here again.

Great campsite and very quiet being just off highway 101. Great location to access many redwood hiking trails. Sites are very large with many hidden cabin and tent sites. Staff super friendly but office/store hours are very short (1000-1600) so call ahead. They do have available sites listed on their night board should you arrive after hours. Large field area for kids to run around, small area with 2 goats, chicken/hens, laundry, store with lots of souvenirs etc. Laundry room has 3 washers and 5 dryers… The sewer connection at our site was 6-8” off the ground so you will want a hose rack Very clean site; fire rings at each site - firewood available for purchase. We will be back.

This was our first time at a KOA and we were blown away by the amazing customer service and help from the staff. We had trouble with the spot we reserved because of a local storm that had blown through and we only had a pop-up. Staff allowed us to look at multiple sites, and even drove my wife around on a golf cart to look at cabins we could rent. We ended up getting a deluxe cabin and it was perfect for our family of 4. Can't wait for our next KOA trip!

Currently staying here. The office closed early… the bathrooms were locked. Only one staff here. Their children are running around on the golf cart for sport. The bathrooms in the far back are closed array for the night. No one is available. No fire wood. WiFi doesn’t work. Cabin is nice but amenities are not as advertised.

Very clean and quiet park. Really liked the privacy of the back-in space. Playground was enjoyable for the kids. Friendly staff. Stayed a week in February and really enjoyed the whole area of attractions.

We were extremely impressed with this campground! Ken, in the office, was friendly and helpful. And, we were able to get a pull-through space, so we didn’t even have to unhook for the 2 nights we stayed. The rates were on par with other KOA Kampgrounds, and they were pet-friendly. There was a nice little gift shop and mini market in the office with reasonable prices. We saw an animal area with goats and chickens, a fenced area of recumbent bikes, a play area, pet area and a walking trail through the Redwoods (which we were unfortunately unable to enjoy, due to rain). They also had a rec room and bathrooms and laundry room next to the office. They looked nice, though we didn't use those facilities. The park was quiet and well-kept. Our 2nd (and final) night, the rain just poured down most of the night. When we got ready to leave, we were surprised and impressed that we were not in the middle of big rain and/or mud puddles or sunk into the ground from that amount of water. We didn’t get as many pictures of the campground as we’d hoped, but it was a perfect gateway for our sightseeing and rest during a long journey! Date of our stay: 09/27/2013-09/29/2013; Our Cost: $44 per night, including 2 pets and 1 additional vehicle. - Review provided by RV Park Recommendations & Reviews Facebook Group
