Cripple Creek Hospitality House & Travel Park

Overview

Located in a historic gold-mining town, the Cripple Creek Hospitality House & Travel Park offers a unique blend of turn-of-the-century charm and modern RV convenience. This destination is anchored by a majestic historic building, originally constructed as a hospital in 1901, which now serves as the park’s central hub and lodging facility. Guests can expect a quiet, high-altitude experience that prioritizes easy access to local history and the rugged beauty of the Colorado mountains. It is a peaceful alternative for those who want to be close to the action without staying in the middle of the bustle.

Location & Surroundings

Perched at an elevation of nearly 9,500 feet, the park provides a refreshing mountain atmosphere with stunning views of the surrounding Pikes Peak region. It is situated just on the western edge of the historic district, offering a peaceful retreat that remains within a very short distance of the town's vibrant main street and entertainment. The surrounding terrain is characterized by rolling hills, evergreen forests, and the high-country landscape unique to Teller County, making it a scenic spot for morning walks and evening sunsets.

Amenities & Park Features

The RV park features several sites including full hookup connections and pull-through options designed to accommodate a variety of trailer and motorhome sizes. Inside the historic hospitality house, travelers have access to well-maintained facilities such as clean restrooms, private showers, and on-site laundry services. The park is valued for its functional layout and level gravel pads, making it a reliable and comfortable basecamp for those who prefer a quiet, historic atmosphere over a busy, modern resort. The historic building itself provides a sense of character rarely found in typical RV parks.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Visitors are perfectly positioned to enjoy the excitement of Cripple Creek’s many casinos and gaming halls, which are located just a short drive or walk away. For those interested in local heritage, the Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad and the Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine offer fascinating tours. What a gem! This hotel has excellent parking, very quiet, excellent staff, Doc’s food truck has great breakfast foods included in stay! The sun rise reflected in the mirror of my armoire! A lovely 20 minute walk to town offering a great view of the local architecture! I can’t say enough! A must stay here!!

My wife and I wanted a quiet place to stay from the noise of Cripple Creek and found this charming place. There is so much history here it's unreal. A beautiful, charming romantic QUIET place to stay. We really enjoyed our stay here and look forward to coming again. It was my wife's birthday on the day we arrived and the hostess, who greeted us with a warm smile, wished her a happy birthday. After coming back from a night out we found cookies, which were delicious and a birthday card from the staff. Made us feel very welcome and invited. Breakfast was a burrito stuffed with eggs, sausage, cheese and potatoes. Man it was good!! Plus yogurt, juice, coffee and a huge cinnamon roll. All in all, very happy with our stay.

A very unique property with interesting history and educational setup. I was curious about rumors of the place being haunted, but my wife, me and our two kids did not experience anything. Very quiet property with cool amenities and experiences. Service was fantastic from greeting to breakfast and farewell the following morning.

This place was a gem! My kids, ages 8 and 11, were fascinated with the history and antiques. We only stayed one night as we passed through Cripple Creek. The rooms were clean and breakfast was delicious. The lady working was very friendly and helpful.

This hotel is amazing. First off, very affordable. From there... antiques galore, historic building, wild donkeys visit the property on occasion (see photo), excellent staff, comfortable and quiet rooms, good coffee and breakfast. Make sure you give yourself time to just hang out on the porch for a bit.
