I had an amazing stay at this resort and would definitely give it five stars! The food was delicious, especially their signature dishes. The hotel rooms were very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The property is huge, with a hotel, cabins, and camping areas. The best part is the location—right behind the hotel is Abraham Lake, famous for its beautiful views. Every morning, we enjoyed breakfast with stunning scenery, and in the afternoons, we walked along the lakeshore surrounded by nature. We were also lucky enough to see the Northern Lights at night—it was absolutely breathtaking! I’m extremely satisfied with this resort and will definitely come back next year.

Ten day stay in the camp ground. Bathrooms and showers were disgustingly dirty. Out houses were full and never cleaned. Garbage bins were overflowing when we arrived and we could smell them from our campsite. Complained, showers were cleaner the next day and two days after that they were filthy again. Poor water pressure, so bad we could not shower in our RV. Would not go back, very run down. Positive note beautiful location.

The owners have done little to maintain the site - from the bare-bones and funky smelling rooms, the derelict playground, and the sad excuse for a mini-golf course, while guests pay anywhere from $209 to $365. This is clearly all about the cash grab and not about the guest experience. This place could be amazing - perhaps use the constructive feedback on this review site to do better.

We just had dinner at the restaurant and we were so happy with the brisket! So tender and taste. My boyfriend had the pulled pork sandwich and was very happy with his meal. He said there was a huge serving of pulled pork and very taste. Definitely will be back!

A truly mountain experience with gorgeous mountain views! The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food in the restaurant is delicious. We had pulled pork sandwiches and Cole slaw. And both were super delicious! I also had sweet potato fries and loved them as well.

A very beautiful part of Alberta that really can’t be matched. Unfortunately the resort itself doesn’t match the beauty of the land. We stayed in the full service cabin and I was grateful for this since it had the in cabin washroom. “Outhouses” are the temporary porta- potties used on construction sites. The campground seems like it was once nice, now run down and understaffed. The staff was nice for the most part. We have a good time because you can’t beat the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. I definitely wouldn’t tent here though.

Unfortunately my son had a small nose bleed on the sheet that we tried to clean up the best we could. The motel is now charging us $250. We have washed sheets multiple times before and had no issue to get the stain out. A small cleaning charge would possible be reasonable, but $250 to throw away the sheets does not. The motel was noisy and hot. Not at all worth the price of the $280 we paid for one night. Would not recommend.

The road from Rocky Mountain house towards David Thompson Resort was entertaining for the kids since we saw a lot of deer and horses at the side of the highway, but also worries me since they can easily cross the road while driving 90-100kph and towing a trailer could be a disaster. I do have a deer whistle, I guess it helps since they were moving away or looking when I was getting close to them. Family stayed over the May long weekend. The pre-selected campsite was awful (reason only gave them 4 stars), the whole night, the power was fluctuating causing for my surge protector to shut down multiple times (I have the Southwire Surge Guard) which is a good thing since it was protecting my trailer's electrical components but almost drained my battery since it was just running by it through out the night. The next morning, the lady in the front desk was so helpful and gave us a new campsite with only power and water but it was a better location, bigger area, no surging power and really astonishing view. They do have a dump station so it did not worry me if I fill up my grey and black tanks. This resort is close to the Cline river, Cline landing, have lake trail and lake views, really nice playground and mini golf for the kids to hang out and an ice cream shop inside the grocery store. A really great campground for families. Important note: Wi-fi does not reach the campsites, you have to drive down close to the Front desk office and grocery/restaurant to able to utilize it. Surprisingly though, at Cline river and Abraham lake there is a great connection through your mobile network.
