Nestled on the shores of a stunning 13,800-acre lake, the park provides a versatile destination for travelers seeking more than just a rustic stopover. It functions as a complete vacation hub, combining the natural beauty of the Ouachita Mountains with the convenience of full-service resort facilities and an engaging visitor center that highlights local ecology.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in Bismarck, just off Scenic Highway 7, the park occupies a picturesque peninsula overlooking the sparkling waters of De Gray Lake. The landscape is defined by its clear blue horizons and the dense pine and hardwood forests typical of south-central Arkansas. Its proximity to both Arkadelphia and the historic city of Hot Springs makes it highly accessible while maintaining a secluded, peaceful atmosphere. The surrounding woodlands offer a lush canopy of shade for the various camping loops.
Amenities & Park Features
The park features 113 campsites across multiple loops, including Class AAA sites equipped with full water, sewer, and 50-amp electrical hookups for maximum comfort. Beyond the well-maintained pads, travelers have access to modern bathhouses, a full-service marina for boat rentals, and a 18-hole championship golf course. Families often enjoy the designated swimming beaches, tennis courts, and the panoramic sunset views from the park’s various lakeside picnic areas and pavilions scattered along the shoreline.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Outdoor enthusiasts can explore miles of diverse hiking and biking trails, such as the Greenstone Trail, or spend the day on the water fishing for hybrid bass and crappie. For a change of pace, the historic bathhouses of Hot Springs National Park are a short drive north. Additionally, the famous Crater of Diamonds State Park is within a reasonable driving distance, offering a unique opportunity for visitors to search for real gemstones in their natural volcanic source.
Who This Park Is Best For
This destination is ideal for active families and social groups who want access to organized recreation and modern comforts without leaving the property. The rooms were very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was amazing with generous portions. The room was a little small and was dated, but we were comfortable.

We had a great stay here for a business trip. The staff was absolutely awesome. The food was great. They do not have a full bar so if you're looking for that you will have to drive to into the city. Maybe Hot Springs

We try to make this a stop on road trips when traveling along I-30. It's not far off freeway & great alternative to a hotel: beautiful lake and woods bring calm & relaxation after a day of driving. Rooms are large and comfortable. Dining on site so you don't have to get back in the car to go get something to eat. Friendly service & staff

De Gray State Park Lodge is very clean, has beautiful views, pool and even a fitness center. The lodge restaurant is lovey and has a small bar. The place where there is room for improvement is the food menu selections. Although adequate, it is not a drawing card. I enjoyed our visit and hope to return.

Very nice Lodge. No microwave in room but does have a small refrigerator with no freezer. TV is very small but we stayed on the lake most of the time. Don't eat at the Lodge restaurant. It's terrible! But every person that works at this Lodge is excellent! Couldn't ask for friendlier and helpful staff. The waitress at the restaurant was super but the food was not ! Terrible to have such a nice facility and staff and hot food served cold and probably made at lunch. We ate around 5pm and no more than 6 people in the restaurant but food was served cold. Cold baked potato wouldn't melt the butter and veggies were cold. Garlic bread cold. Poor cook.. 😂
