We spent July 2 through the 6th at the campground. We had a marvelous time! The site was clean and neat. The facilities (store, restrooms, boat ramp access, etc) were all excellent. This was our 3rd visit there and certainly will not be our last, as we've already reserved a site for October. Whether you are picnicking fir the day, swimming at the beach, camping in a tent, or in an RV, we highly recommend this site. Thexstaff is always very friendly and exceptionally helpful. We were advised that our original site choice had experienced some flooding due to a heavy rain the day before our arrival. The staff gave recommended and gave us another spot without hesitation. That is exceptional service!

We stayed for 4th of July weekend and the campground was clean, and they had some great activities for the kids that weren't an extra cost... We painted flags and the kids got out of the heat via the inflatable slip n slide. Fireworks were beautiful too! The hookups were in great shape, bath house was clean and tidy, and the honey wagon service was a cherry on top so we didn't have to take the rig from the lake to the cleaning station to empty or use our small wagon. The wildlife was happy too! 🐠🐦🦊🦉🐿️

Our favorite place to stay in the area of Wheeler Lake! So much shade available in camping spots, and very nice sites on the water. Camping store with nice staff!

We’ve been staying here for the last several years on weekends and it has become one of our favorite places to camp. Even though the name has changed, it’s still the same amazing campground with the same friendly staff we’ve always enjoyed. The campground is extremely clean, well maintained, and very family-friendly. Our kids always look forward to the Saturday morning arts and crafts, and the live music on Saturday nights is a great way to end the day. If you enjoy fishing, you won’t be disappointed—Wheeler Lake offers some great fishing right from the campground. What really sets this place apart is the staff. They’re always welcoming, helpful, and genuinely care that you have a great stay. We highly recommend Unhitched Wheeler Lake RV Park to anyone looking for a clean, fun, and relaxing campground. We can’t wait to come back again!

We had such an amazing time at this campground! Our Memorial Day weekend was truly memorable, and we had so much fun from start to finish. The view was beautiful, and we enjoyed everything — camping, fishing, kayaking, cooking, and relaxing by the fire at night. A special thank you to Lisa and the front desk staff for going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and special. They helped us get the best camping spot(101 and 102) all by ourselves and made sure we were happy. Their kindness and customer service really made a difference. Overall, this was one of the best camping experiences we’ve had. Great location, beautiful views, friendly staff, and lots of fun activities. We will definitely come back again and highly recommend this campground to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable outdoor getaway!

This KOA is a perfect halfway point between Cincinnati, Ohio and Dauphin Island at Gulf Shores. The campground was quiet at this time of year amd midweek. We had a perfect spot overlooking Wheeler Lake. Early the next morning we were thrilled and mesmerized to see hundreds and hundreds of White Pelicans on the water, as they were migrating south. This was a once ina lifetime experience!

Nice park that sits on Wheeler Lake. The staff is very friendly that offers a “down home” attitude. The young lady that checked us in was very friendly and polite, and was very informative about the local area. On Saturday night the park had a band which was good. The showers and bathroom area was clean. I would definitely come back to this KOA.

Awesome people! See Lisa Mays She runs the campground! Not only an awesome person, but really cares about the campground and campers overall experience . And great live band sat night. Such a cool place. Haven’t even beautiful Lake Wheeler yet.😁

There is NO DOG PARK even though it shows K9 Kamp online map. Pull through sites appeared to be an after thought. Not very nice area for those sites. Had some fire ants our dog got into. I'm really surprised its a Holiday. We left 2 days early. They did refund the 2 days because of the dog park situation.

Enjoyed our stay with our family over Labor Day weekend. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The sites were clean and spacious. There were plenty for the kids to do (ages 14,9,7) including crafts, fishing, swimming, slip and slide, and riding their bikes. The game room was nice and the boys enjoyed the indoor basketball game! There were other activities that we plan to do on our next visit including renting kayaks and horse back riding… and if we’re brave enough, the ropes course. This place really has it all! We will be back.

Absolutely wonderful. The location was perfect. But what made our stay the rememberable was the general manager Lisa. She went above and beyond to make our stay great. From the hospitality to the live music. We will definitely come back. I would recommend this campground to everyone looking for a family and friend oriented place to stay on vacation or business.

We camped here Memorial Day weekend and had a great time. The weather was iffy, but we still enjoyed it. Staff was great! They keep their grounds very well maintained. As soon as the person next to our site left, the staff was there tidying up for the next person. Which we should do before we leave any campsite! They even had someone come around and blow off any leaves or debris from the paved roads. Also, loved that if you are on a site near the water ( no sewer for these areas) you can make arrangements and pay a fee for them to come and empty your tanks. Will definitely be back with our kayaks! They also have electric bike rentals, kayak rentals etc.

This is a great place to stay whether you’re full timers or here for a weekend. Almost entire campground is paved which is helpful for kiddos or adults to ride bikes. They have a beach area, playground, plenty of open areas to picnic or fish. It’s a very peaceful place on the lake. All of the staff do such a great job maintaining the grounds and facilities. Everyone is so kind and helpful. Tracey, Lisa, Frankie and the rest of the team are all wonderful. It’s clear they truly care about their guests and we are so glad to have stayed here!

Giving them four stars because the roads are very narrow and the gated entrances are also narrow, so it's a tight fit if you have a newer travel trailer or RV. Most campgrounds now have a person in a golf cart that drives you to your spot, they hand you a map and send you on your way. On the plus side, ample camping spots with lake access. Access to rental jet skis, boats, etc. And plenty of boat access for your boat. They also have several pavilions for cooking out next to the water. The ladies at the counter are friendly and greet you when you walk through the door.

For years this place was known as Mallard Creek. Just a place to pitch a tent and swim or fish. Now KOA kampgrounds of America. Have resurrected this place as a Resort. Beautiful sites with full hook ups to primitive camping. Even have rustic cabins with ac. Clean is an understatement. Gated for your security. Plenty of amenities everywhere. Kayaks , canoes and live music on occasion. Did I mention horseback riding close by. The staff is amazing and overly hospitable. Don’t miss out on a great getaway not far from home. Make your reservations soon , it may get full quick.
