I visited Deer Creek Conservation Area recently and had a wonderful time. The reservoir and the creek are both beautiful – perfect for kayaking, canoeing, or just sitting by the water to relax. The creek adds a peaceful, natural touch and makes paddling even more enjoyable. The campground was clean and simple, with washrooms and showers that were well maintained. It’s not overly crowded like some bigger parks, which made the visit calm and relaxing. If you’re looking for a quiet spot with good swimming, fishing, and the chance to explore the creek by boat, Deer Creek is definitely worth visiting.

My friend and I went trailer camping for two nights. It’s such a beautiful little conservation area! Our campsite, while a bit on the small side, was lovely location wise. We enjoyed sitting by the fire at night listening to the crickets, cicadas, and frogs- we even heard an owl! It was so peaceful! The park itself, and the washrooms and showers were clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered firewood. It was very reasonably priced and was delivered to our campsite in a timely manner. I highly recommend Deer Creek Construction Area. We will definitely be returning to camp again before summer is over.

Spent a great day here on my first visit. I explored every inlet and had fun weaving through low hanging branches and fallen trees. The water is exceptionally clear and the banks are steep so you can paddle close to shore without worrying about bottoming out or banging your paddle. Even with the wind, the inlets remained calm. The beach is noisy with kids but the sound goes away quickly as you paddle on. Overall, a great place to explore and enjoy the scenery.

Had a fantastic weekend at Deer Creek Conservation Park. The campsite is small and the facilities are basic, but it has what you need for a good trip. Washrooms and shower facilities were clean and they also have vault toilets at the top of the boat ramp. The park is open for day use as well as overnight camping and there are some seasonal camping spots (not sure about availability). The people at the front gate were super friendly and got me checked in quickly. Firewood was delivered to my camp promptly and they even lent me an adapter plug to connect my extension cord to the outlet post (needed a 30amp to 15amp adapter plug which I didn’t have on me). The boat ramp is fairly steep but straight and the launch is simple for kayaks. The lake itself is plentiful with inlets and interesting structure for holding fish. There are sunfish and panfish a plenty almost everywhere and the lake drops to a decent depth of 40feet or so. Caught myself some rockbass, bluegill and some crappie around the edges. I’m told the lake also has brown trout and rainbow trout but I wasn’t able to entice any of those onto my rod. Some kids caught a pike off the dock while I was watching so they’re in there too. Bass wasn’t yet open but you could see some monster bass right below the surface hugging close to sunken logs and stumps so definitely a good place for bass once season opens. All in all a great little place to visit and fish.

LOVE the clarity of the water!!!! What a gem! Great place top paddle, but it looks like it could get very busy. Lots of inlets to check out. Looks like it could be a great birding area in the spring and in a few more weeks of migration. If there are no parking spots, then there is no using the boat ramp. There is a fee to get in. Some of the inlets are creeks, so this maybe very buggy in the spring. With padding the perimeter, is approx 10 kms. Sadly, it looks like this lake has Milfoil. Hope it takes a long while before it takes over this place. Lots of sunfish, perch and bass seen.

I like this conservation area because the lake is small and can be kayaked in an afternoon. If you keep to the left you'll go into plenty nooks and crannies but end up back where you started. No getting lost! Great for water sport beginners (wake board, kayak, canoe). The foliage is left wild and creates a great atmosphere. We went in mid september, bugs were minimal, but when the wind picked up it could get tricky on some winds around bends.

Beautiful place to camp or spend the day. Water is crystal clear. No motorized water boats allowed, only canoes, kayaks, etc. So the beach is so peaceful too. Has clean bathrooms and change rooms. Since this is a conservation park there is a day pass charge of $15.00 or $12.00 for seniors per vehicle. Pack a picnic and enjoy. There are picnic tables. No restaurants nearby though! And NO PEts allowed on beach area.

We used the day use-area to go paddle boarding. The water was clean and clear. There was very little wind, and the waters were calm. I wish I brought my fishing pole! It rained at first and the skies cleared up. We will be back to use the park again!

I almost want to give a bad review so that more people don't find this place. The only, and I mean only negative is the lack of privacy between campsites. Pros: First off... Shout out to Nick (staff). Super friendly and helpful. The staff patrol this place more than any other campground I've been to. It's family focused and was not a party place. Second: Grounds are clean, and well maintained. Third: Water is nice. Great for kids or amateur paddlers. Good fishing both off the dock or into the "Creek". Finally... The firewood is actually not garbage. Every National and Provincial park I hate their firewood because it soggy and stinky. This was as good as kiln fired, and properly stored.
