Delaware Seashore State Park offers a unique coastal camping experience where the land meets the sea. Located between the Atlantic Ocean and the inland bays, this park provides a scenic backdrop for RVers looking to immerse themselves in nature. The park features two distinct camping areas near the Indian River Inlet, providing easy access to both saltwater and brackish environments. Whether you are looking for sun-drenched beaches or quiet sunsets over the water, this destination delivers a quintessential Mid-Atlantic coastal vibe.

Location & Surroundings

The park is situated on a narrow strip of land just south of Rehoboth Beach, DE. This location offers a rare 360-degree water experience, with the ocean on one side and the calm bay on the other. Travelers will find themselves surrounded by coastal dunes and salt marshes that are home to diverse wildlife. The iconic Indian River Inlet Bridge serves as a striking landmark, illuminating the night sky and providing a safe passage for boats traveling between the bay and the ocean.

RV travelers will appreciate the full-hookup campsites, which include water, sewer, and electric services. The campsites are primarily paved, making them ideal for large motorhomes and travel trailers. On-site facilities are well-maintained, featuring clean bathhouses with hot showers and convenient laundry stations. For those who enjoy active recreation, the park includes a walking trail that connects the north and south sides of the inlet, as well as easy-to-reach beach access points for daily excursions.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Beyond the campgrounds, the area is packed with activities. Visitors can explore the historic Indian River Life-Saving Station to learn about local maritime history. A short drive north brings you to the famous Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk, known for its classic amusements and local eateries. For those who enjoy shopping, the nearby Tanger Outlets offer tax-free shopping, while the surrounding state parks provide additional miles of hiking and biking trails for outdoor enthusiasts.

It's pretty much just a parking lot to camp or park your RV, camper van to tent. It is right up against the beach though so nice views. I was at the North inlet side and Mike the site host was very nice.

We enjoyed our stay. It’s beautiful at night with the bridge. Lots to do. Has kiddo playground. The sites are nice. Restroom and shower are clean. Good area to fish in. Has a full marina and an excellent restaurant. Dock Side bar and grill. Totally recommend it. Beach has a lovely view.

Love this beach! Always clean with easy shower access. My family has been coming here for generations and we always have a great time!

Not our jam for camping, we prefer woods. Friends had said how much they loved his SP so we tried it. Of course we arrived during a heat wave. Lots of campers all but jammed together. Easy access to bath houses scattered throughout. Gate attendants and camp hosts were very friendly. Easy access to the beach and to fishing. No fires at campsites (not that we wanted one when we were there). Bethany is an easy bicycle ride down the generous bike lane on route 1.

I personally did not have a positive experience. Given that it is a state park and had campground, I was expecting traditional camping set up in the woods. There were no trees, but more like a field. There were winds constantly, and it made it hard to enjoy sitting outside. With the bridge in sight, there were cars passing by constantly. No campfire was allowed.. I think this place works out well for someone who has a camper or trailer, and for those who want to stay near the beach. For me with tent, it wasn’t exactly what I was hoping for. I ended up booking another campsite.
