Desert Gardens International RV & MHP

Overview

Quartzsite, Arizona, is a legendary winter destination for the nomadic community, and Desert Gardens International RV & MHP sits right at the heart of this desert oasis. This park offers a welcoming environment for those looking to trade the biting cold for the mild winter climate of the Sonoran Desert. With a mix of permanent manufactured homes and spacious RV sites, the park maintains a true neighborhood atmosphere that is both quiet and socially active, making it a staple for seasonal residents.

Location & Surroundings

Situated conveniently near the junction of Interstate 10 and Highway 95, the park provides easy access to the town's famous marketplaces while remaining tucked away from the heaviest traffic. You are surrounded by the Dome Rock Mountains, which provide a stunning purple-hued backdrop for every Arizona sunset. The landscape is quintessential Quartzsite, featuring expansive desert vistas and rocky terrain that invite exploration and provide a sense of immense open space.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is well-equipped to handle modern travelers with full-service hookups including 30 and 50-amp electricity at most sites. Social life is a cornerstone of the experience here, revolving around a spacious clubhouse where guests gather for organized events and holiday celebrations. Residents also enjoy practical conveniences and recreation options during their stay:

  • Individual laundry and shower facilities that are well-maintained for long-term guests.
  • Active pickleball courts and horseshoe pits for friendly competitive play.
  • A pet-friendly layout with plenty of room for walking four-legged companions.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Quartzsite is world-renowned for its winter gem and mineral shows, which attract thousands of rockhounds every January. Visitors can explore the Hi Jolly Monument to learn about the unique history of the U.S. Camel Corps or venture into the surrounding public lands for endless off-roading and hiking. The town’s famous flea markets and the annual Sports, Vacation & RV Show are just a short drive away, providing a unique shopping experience where you can find everything from rare crystals to specialized RV gear.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal match for seasonal snowbirds and active retirees who value a community-centric lifestyle. It is a fantastic choice for those attending the winter shows who prefer the stability and utility of a managed park over boondocking in the desert. This is an older RV park with the necessities, not a lot of amenities. That said, we have a stayed there and found it friendly and safe.

The amenities were what I expected for an RV park in Quartzite. The political flags flying on some of the campsites were unwelcoming and off-putting. Do better. Why alienate potential campers?

You only get what you pay for. Positive: Clean park Office folks are nice Easy to get into & out of Wide spaces Mixed: Location-near Love’s Truck Stop where you can fuel up or get basic supplies, food, etc. But there is definitely noise 24/7 so if you’re a light sleeper you may notice that, we did. If you’re into off Roading, you can leave right from camp and head south where there are many miles of trails. However, that is something you can do from pretty much any RV park in Quartzsite. Negative: The sites have no patios. Sites while level are really nothing more than utilities in a field, and loose rocks are everywhere. The Hi Jolly and La Posa short term camping areas have better terrain. Also the closest park to the westernmost mountain so if it’s windy you’ll feel more of that here as nothing blocks the breeze. In short, if we didn’t want the hookups this time we would have had a better & quieter stay boon docking. There’s nothing wrong with the place, it’s just very minimalist & not for us. If we’re going to pay to camp, we want more even if it costs more per nite. We would not stay here again-just our preference.

We have been here for 2 weeks and will be here 2 1/2 months. Staff in the office are very friendly and helpful! They have laundry on site and the facility is very clean. Very cozy and quiet. Highly recommend!!

While searching for a RV spot for myself and 4 friends I stopped into Desert Gardens RV Park. I met with Danny who offered exceptional customer service. When I explained I needed several spots during the busiest time of the year Danny said no problem. Give me a day to work it out and I will see what I can do. Thinking when I left I would never hear back from him I was blown away when he called me a few hours later and said I got you handled. I so sincerely appreciate the time and consideration Danny gave me. Absolutely wonderful customer service and a very fare price for full hookups. After checking in the next day another friend called and needed a spot. I immediately called Danny and he was able to even accommodate another friend of mine. A sincere thank you to Danny.
