We have been RVing for a month. This is a very nice park. Definitely the best bathroom. Totally private. Clean. We only stayed one night. If we RV next year, we will definitely stay here for an extended stay. They even had a clean, heated pool and hot tub. As a hot tub owner I know that you can have a lot of contaminants in a hot tub, and I rarely use a communal tub, but this was nice and clean.

Nice park but older so sites are narrow and tight. We wanted a pull through so we did not need to unhook from our toad. We are a total of 65 feet long with our pickup toad. It was extremely difficult to maneuver to avoid obstacles. Do not book into this park if you are long and don't want to unhook from your towed vehicle.

Very clean park. We enjoyed our stay. We ventured out and saw a lot of local sites and, of course, Sonoma. About 5 miles away is a small town with a grocery store, gas station, and post office. And we weren't aware that this area has several wineries, so if you're into that, it would be a nice day or two tripping around the wineries.

Nice but NO REFUNDS Over the past 2 years, my husband and I have stayed at Distant Drum multiple times without incident. The park is clean, conveniently located, dog friendly, and has level cement slabs. As a frequent camper, I find that most every park is flexible. But not Distant Drum. They have a NO REFUND policy. Meaning if you pay for a stay but life happens (whether an illness, emergency, or a situation which requires you to leave early) you get NO REFUND of any quantity. My husband and I got soaked for a few hundred dollars. But I think of all the travelers that come from across the country and pay for months of stay. What happens if they need to suddenly leave? According to their policy, Distant Drum will give you no money back. This strict policy only benefits the owners as they take your money and can then resell the spot to another traveler. Beware!

The night security guy Rocky is the only good thing about this place, he was friendly and helpful, unlike some of the other employees. Management gets a big thumbs down, very rude and good luck if you have any issues during your stay because they don't care at all. And recently they raised the rent again far beyond what is reasonable for an rv park with a small pool.

What great folks here. They squeezed us in pretty last minute and got us a good spot. Pool, hot tub, laundry, work out room, community room, the works. They have the amenities to make you wanna stay much longer. The dog park is very clean and they do a really great job keeping the grounds around the parking very tidy. Everyone is very nice and friendly and willing to help out. Spots are decent sized for a private park and everyone has full hookups that are well cared for. Excellent location, not too far from any of the great spots, especially the indigenous historical sites, they’re the best things to visit nearby. I want to stay longer they make it so great!

Great RV resort . Everyone is very friendly. They are constantly cleaning and keeping up the grounds. The resort is very well lit at night. The views are amazing. They offer a free shuttle to the casino that is there to pick you up within 10 minutes. We spent a week and wished we could have stayed longer

This was a great place to stay in our RV. The property was clean and neat. The amenities are all there too, pool, spa and gym. The spaces are level, each having a little room with a picnic table and benches. Great location, 30 minutes from Jerome 20 minutes from cottonwood and about 40 minutes to Sedona. If you gamble they provide a shuttle to the casino across the street for free. We will go back to stay again.

Easy to get to - just off I-17. Just across the road from Cliff Castle Casino. Very convenient to Sedona, Jerome, and Montezuma's Castle. The park is clean, including showers, and laundry room. Camp Verde, AZ - Distant Drums RV Resort; 583 West Middle Verde Road, Camp Verde, AZ 86322; 877-577-5507; 928-554-8000. There are 158 sites - most are FHUs but a few have no sewer. Pricing varies according to length of stay and type of site. The park accepts AAA, Good Sam, and during the off season, PA is accepted (but not now). Sites are gravel and then almost all have a paved patio and parking for truck or toad. That’s a nice feature – but sites are back in and most are back to back. In my opinion, they are fairly tight, unless you have a site around the edge of the park where the rigs don’t back up to another site. The back ins are at an angle to each other, and many I saw have slide outs that almost touch the next rig’s slide outs. We were glad we had a site at the edge of the park even though it was closest to the road noise and we had to use three inches of boards under the right side of the 5th wheel to become level (we do not have auto leveling). There is a small pool, a hot tub, clean restrooms, a clean laundry, and a clubhouse. They offer cable and supposedly, free WiFi, but of course, it doesn’t work, and was not really strong even up at the clubhouse. With our RV personal lifestyle, we need decent WiFi. One evening when I went up to the clubhouse to use the WiFi there, they were closing for a private party – but no sign had been posted that morning when I went up to talk to the staff about where I could get decent WiFi. That was disappointing to me. Our Verizon MiFi does not work well in this area (that’s not the park’s fault of course). Our ATT phone did work as a hot spot. We chose this park because of positive reviews, but I personally am putting it on my “not again” list for several reasons. It advertises that it is a premier resort but the tight area (I have seen several rigs having difficulty turning corners and having to ask trucks to move out of their own parking space so they can get out) and the lack of WiFi take it off my personal list. It they charged less, I would have been OK, but when paying a premium price, I want premium services. I am sure it is fine for many RVers, but it just didn’t work for us. - Review provided by RV Park Recommendations & Reviews Facebook Group
