Dixon's is a lovely family campground in the best tradition, offering camping, swimming and activities throughout the season. We were very happy to perform and book music for the summer series over the past two years and look forward to doing it again in '26!

1st off look at how many reviews I've written. We chose Dixon's because of the price. You get what you pay for. Every other day we got an email from them saying they will take out balance due at 10am on the morning of our check in. Even though check in wasn't until 12 noon. 6 emails in total. When we arrived we pulled into their office parking space. It was barely big enough for our 30 ft motorhome pulling a Jeep. After we went in and checked in at the office, we then had to disconnect the Jeep pull back out onto the road turn around and pull back in to face into their entry gate. Not one email mentioned that. One of the employees guided us to our campsite in his golf court. I was following their 5 mph speed limit in the park and cannot keep up with him. He then was guiding me back into the site and I stopped and he said then I'll keep going and I said no. Explain them I didn't want to hit the branches up at the top of the wreck. He said don't worry about those they're very soft branches. I said I am worried about them and I'm not backing up the rig into the ranches. He said well then you can do whatever you want I said well then let me move to this other site and camp there is what you can't do that. I said also I can't do what I want. I said well then I'm leaving the motorhome where it is, and I hope the people next to us can get into their spot. He said oh you have people drive over that rock without any issue all the time. I said yeah I can see the scratch marks in the rock from people dragging the bottoms of their campers across them. He said oh well that's just part of the details. Nothing to worry about. Terrible customer service. We will never be staying here again.

This was my great Grandmother's campground. Haven't been in years but glad to see that from the reviews the new owners are keeping it kept up and just like grandma Dixon had it.

Our experience here was wonderful. The staff were very nice and helpful. Our campsite was a little small but plenty of room for 2 small tents and our van. We had one of the better campsites that wasn't as close to others. However, all the guests here were quiet, nice, respectful, calm, making for a perfect stay. Most guests seemed to be nice families. They have entrance and exit gates, and a key card is required to enter. The bathroom facilities were the best I've ever seen/used. They seem to be new and were very well maintained. The campground is a short 5 or 10-minute drive to the beaches, so it is just far enough away to be scenic and close enough to have a fun vacation. I highly recommend Dixon's!

Great campground. We tent here a couple nights each summer and love it. Good bathrooms and showers available and a well run and clean grounds. Pool is a good option but we normally head to ogunquit for the day. Gated entry and extremely nice and helpful staff

8/23/24 Dixon’s is AMAZING‼️ Spotless private bathrooms & showers. Although our Airstream had a toilet & shower I preferred to use theirs. The friendly staff Billy & Yani, etc kept cleaning through out the day. Also a heated swimming pool. Dogs r permitted but there is also a dog free zone near pool & children’s playground. Excellent security passes for entering & leaving. There is a tent section and different size RVs. Even the people using Dixon’s were polite & friendly. Noise restrictions after 8pm and before 8am were adhered to by all. Just 7 mins down the road from The Marginal Way, path along ocean front. And the pier with shops and great restaurants. We will definitely be going back. This was our 1st camping trip & it was amazing‼️ Our next trip is going to be impossible living up to Dixon’s!!

Love Dixon’s! I came for one night of tent camping, great staff, clean facilities and beautiful spots. I was in 86, pick up sticks! Camp wood is $8 and the shower requires Quakers but other than that, the place is great:: will return !

I rented a Yurt while my son was tent camping. It was cute, clean, and comfortable. I loved being dry during the heavy rain and close to the restroom. It was 5 minutes to Ogunquit beach. I will definitely be back!

This campground is perfect. Great location, only few minutes from downtown Ogunquit! Very clean bathrooms, camp sites are beautiful with big trees! Also, the ladies at the front desk was friendly and welcoming. Will come back.

Really clean camping, showers and toilets are well maintained. Close to the beach. We enjoyed the pool. There are a lot of trees so it wasn’t too warm in our tent even if it was really hot outside. Wifi is only working well at the pool and the front office, but it’s great to be off our phone when we are camping 😉 Staff is friendly.

Dixon’s was absolutely amazing. From the time we checked and was escorted to our site by Bill(we’ll get into him in a second,) to the minute we checked out, we were thoroughly impressed. The bathhouses were clean, and always stocked. People were quiet using them as well. The campsite was huge!!! Amenities were great. Short drive to all locations. Back to Bill- what an amazing soul. He took his time to get us set up, gave us recommendations on where to go, how to get to the beach, shopping and travel information. He jammed out with us to some 70s soft rock essentials. He got us a bucket for waste water as us newbies had no clue what to do with ours(LOL) and he interacted with our 8 month old who was camping for the first time. Although we cut our trip short due to a teething baby and not wanting to keep others around us up, it was an amazing campground run by great people and will DEFINITELY be back.

I usually hate going to private campgrounds, particularly in high tourism areas. They are generally just parking lots where the owner tries to jam in as many RVs as they can, where the only sight out your window is an adjacent RV. Spacing at Dixon's was more in line with a state or federal campground. We were in site 83 with only one neighbor separated by trees, the rest was woods. The sit was level and clean with plenty of room for our Class B and Clam Shelter. With had a nice fire pit and table and plenty of room to spare. Facilities were as clean and well maintained as in Fort Wilderness. We spent a week there, and we're within minutes of the beach, shopping and a wide selection of places to eat. Definitely rates a 5 star rating.

Nice family run campground! Spacious, some spaces are on level ground with gravel. Easy to York beaches! Nice pool and bath house amenities. No sewer hookups is the only drawback. Cell service is rock solid to work!!!

I give this place 5 stars because it was a very well kept the grounds and restrooms were very clean. The sites were on the smaller side but we made due. I liked it was directly off route 1 close to the beach and other activities. I loved how they show you to your site. This was our 2 trip with our new and 1st camper and the gentlemen who showed us to our site was so nice and helped direct us with backing it in. He was so patient and informative. Once we got it on the site we realized we needed leveling blocks we didn’t have any and he let us borrow some. Not many places would do that and for the hospitality that we got we will definitely be back.
