Durango North Riverside is a residential neighborhood located in Durango, Colorado. The neighborhood is situated along the banks of the Animas River, offering stunning views of the river and the surrounding mountains. Durango North Riverside

Second time we’ve stayed at this campground and we really enjoy it. It has beautiful views and the staff is always very nice and accommodating. The only issue is the bathrooms are very outdated.

We are currently staying at Durango Riverside, and I think it is a great park. It is so peaceful, with beautiful views and the river running right through the park. The only downside is that it is farther away from town than some of the other RV parks, but I think the views and serenity make it worth the extra drive.

I am staying in a pull-through spot, as that is always my default so I can disconnect and connect my Jeep onsite. However, if I came here again, I would reserve a back-in spot right on the river. It would be worth the extra hassle of disconnecting and connecting my vehicle outside my spot. Pretty much all the people in the riverside spots sit out in the evening right on the river, enjoying the peaceful sights and sounds of the beautiful river.

The only other thing I'd mention is, due to the remote location, internet service is spotty. The park provides basic Wifi, which is good for checking e-mail or low-bandwidth things like that, but it's not good for streaming. Cellular hot spots don't work very well here. We have a Starlink satellite, which works great here, but without it, I wouldn't be able to work remote or stream TV.

Office staff were very friendly, and there is a heated pool, and I think there is also a cafe that is open on the weekends. I recommend it!

Beautiful park! Stayed here in our rv the last 3 nights with my husband and dog right on the river! So peaceful and the staff were very nice! Try the pizza at the café it's Delicious!! Only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 is that they could have a larger area for dogs to run and play. Highly recommend!

We stayed in a cute cabin right along the river! The grounds are well kept and the staff we interacted with for 1 night were friendly. Bathrooms are definitely “campground” bathrooms but functional and clean.

Definitely try to get a river front RV or cabin spot!

Do not camp here. This is an old KOA and by no means a resort.

All of the good reviews are from people who have paid hundreds of dollars for an RV or cabin site by the river.

The tent sites are far away from the river and against the highway. The bathrooms have not been updated since before the moon landing. Literally. They were grimy and gross.

There is no handicap access to the bathroom and no handicap stall.

I brought the state of the bathroom to the attention of the person in the office and she said the condition of the bathroom didn’t matter to her because she personally has an RV. She said she had no reason to know what condition they were in. Lady, you work there.  You should know what you are selling to people. And the comfort of your guests is your business.

I expected a peaceful river to sleep next to. There was a loud droning sound all night like a generator or something, and the sound of trucks on the highway.

I was told that river access was only for people in cabins and RVs.

Tent sites are on a hill with nowhere level to set up my small tent.

Worst campsite I’ve stayed at across North America.

Great little clamping place! This was our summer vacation so we splurged on price a bit. The sites are expensive but the grounds are nice, they had family activities, the pool was well maintained, great river access, and they had a good cafe - overall, it was great! For the glamping price, I think it should have a hot tub.

We met up with some family members who were on a cross country trip over the summer and we decided to stay here. It's a really great location on the river. We had a riverfront spot and sitting listening to the river was peaceful. The bathrooms/showers were clean and in good working order, the pool was a nice amenity and it was great having a café on site so we didn't have to cook dinner the night we arrived. The staff is friendly and accommodating. It's a quick drive to Durango and the surrounding area. It is an RV park so sites are close and it was a popular place to be in July. However we knew and expected that to be the case but its location and amenities far outweighed being a little close to our neighbors. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent RV park !! Gorgeous riverside lots. Tho all the other lots are still nice, shaded and close to river.  Multiple bathhouses not only makes it convenient but the facilities themselves are super nice. Close to downtown Durango but far enough to just hear the sound of the river at night.  Very nice retreat!    Paula was lovely and returned my call within 15/20 minutes as we were searching for a place for the night.

JW is fantastic, greatly exceeded our expectations! We did a tent camping trip, our site (108) had running water and electric, which was amazing. Just a short walk to the showers and restrooms, which were also amazing. There is a dishwashing station attached to the restrooms, which was fantastic, especially since we were in a tent. Staff was wonderful and picked up our trash withing minutes every time we put it on the street. We were visited by and woken up several nights by raccoons rooting through our pots and pans on the picnic table, so don't leave any food out, especially at night. We are planning to stay here again!! This place is awesome.

We hosted a family reunion here in July 2024.  The resort staff were fantastic to work with and all were very friendly.  We were able to use the patio area for a family potluck dinner, and the resort staff even loaned us a laptop projector for a slide show!  All at the last minute no less.  The only complaint I heard about the place from our group was of a need for more towels and wash cloths for the cabin dwellers.  Otherwise, a fantastic place and the location was ideal!

Let me start by saying I almost always read reviews and consider them before staying anywhere.. we booked a last minute trip and I did not do that this time. And I’m so glad I didn’t! I have no idea how Durango Riverside only has three stars!!! From the moment we pulled in our stay was lovely. The hosts were super friendly and personable. The grounds are really clean and well kept! The pool sparkled! There is a small game room, bath houses, small convenience store… everything was perfect! We liked being out of town but it is definitely convenient to downtown and served us well in our hiking and boating adventures! We WILL return here!
